i've noticed on this tour that for each show the Pixies either do Subbacultcha or U-Mass but never both in the same set (unless someone can prove me wrong), iv'e seen them play U-Mass 3 times now, but never Subbacultcha. I think U-Mass is the stronger song though.. |

They did play both in Paris on June 14th, along with Head On, Planet Of Sound, Winterlong, Blown Away and Is She Weird. And I wasn't there. Fuck.
And Subbacultcha is the best song of the 2, even if I love U-Mass too. In fact Subbacultcha is the fucking greatest song ever.

I like the original/BBC versions of Subbacultcha better than the TLM version.
The switching of "This is a song about something there/there's something about this song" is sooo dumb. Sorry frank, but the original way is the most brilliant line EVER.
So Im headed for the stereo store, to get a white noise maker, and turn it up to ten. |

The song originally was the way you've written it. It was switched for the record. He decided to switch it back. I do like it better on the record than switched.

they played both at UC Davis, California.
I personally like Subbacultcha more...U-Mass rocks, but its a tad repetitive. both are killer little songs, though. |

"U-Mass" is pretty catchy ("IT'S EDUCATIONAL!"), but I think "Subbacultcha" is the better song.
There are several songs on Trompe that I'd rather hear than either one of those, though.

But "Subbacultcha" is handsome, and looks like an erotic vulture!
