this program is too cool not to share...
It's called KeyHole by Nvidia. I
f you have the system requirements to use it, it's free,
and really fun.
You can even see cars parked.
For those of you who won't get to use it,
it's a satellite map of the world
and you can zoom in on all the land and the cities...
it's incomplete, a work in progress, but pretty darn fun.
It even has street names...
So, I know where you live, haha!
So I can find you and bring you salad and quesadillas and beer.

Nvidia cards tremble in the shadow of Radeon cards, as of late. (Well, the last couple years or so.) So I don't have an Nvidia card which means I can't use it which means fuck you.
Damnit, I wanted to see what my house looked like from space...

When I zoom in on my town it goes all brown and hazy. No interrest for NASA to have high-res images of our town.
I'll just go spy on the Northern Hemisphere then.......

The Intel rep at our store was showing me this yesterday. Pretty damn cool if you ask me. He told me that NASA has a similar project which is actually realtime...you can see what's happening in realtime wherever the satellite is pointed at that particular moment (you can't control it). It costs like $100 a year or something. Pretty creepy shit.
I guess I just wasn't made for these times. |
