How about they make them with the thinnest glass knonw to man. That way when you drop them the same day you buy them, the case shatters and scratches the delicate face of the cd so it skips already.
Seems like you have to be a rocket scientist to care for cds...

Amen to that! On about 50 per cent. of the CD's I buy new, the cases are already broken before I even open the damn things.
Stick to LP's, then you don't have to worry about the case breaking or being able to open it. I guess you have to worry about scratching, but not if you take good care of them.
Well, they COULD make them easier to break, but the attempts to do that ended up in the cases being broken before they reached the stores. Instead, they utilize state-of-the-art technology that makes them break soon after you get them home.
