Pardon if this is old news, or if it's been discussed, or even if it is a regional thing to my area (Houston) but if you have Digital Cable from Time Warner, and iControl, there is currently (again, at least in my area) a FREE offering of The Pixies playing in London in 1988 available for viewing (and pausing and rewinding etc.)
I saw it... it's great.
If this has come up before, my apologies, but I searched the forum and it only returned errors.
So there you have it. Hope it's at least a nationwide thing, but I truly don't know.

Suck, I don't have digital cable... I really would like to see and hear that show!
btw, Wade, are you going to the Pixies gig in Houston???
I ask you because I might attend that show, my sister and her husband and their baby live in Houston so...
We'll see... I haven't decided yet.

*blushes* I have yet to see the T&C dvd, but looking at the description of it after you said that , looks like It must be the same show.... without the videos. or the documentary sections. Just the show in London.
I will add that I hope the sound quality is better on the DVD than it was on iControl, was a little "mono" sounding at times, though the band is obviously on their game and putting on a great set. I enjoyed it thoroughly, a little too much perhaps.
So... my news isn't so great I guess.... except that not I HAVE seen part of the T&C dvd, but that's only news to ME.
I guess there is some intrinsic value in the thread in that the concert portion IS being offered for free on Time Warner digital cable through iControl. But not as exciting as I had thought... other than that, now all I've done is told EVERYONE that I had yet to see the DVD.
Yes, LBF, I'll be at both the Houston show at Reliant Arena, and at the Austin City Limits Music Festival show at Zilker Park (check out the lineup for this years show if you haven't already... it's incredible.) http://www.aclfestival.com/

Huh... I just looked and couldn't find it. Maybe it is regional like you said, Wade. Or maybe it was only on there for one night. |

nope, I've seen it twice now, again last night.
if you have Time Warner digital cable.... it's under iControl>iControl FREE> Favorites>Music>concerts>Pixies Live
but maybe it is regional. Still, I'd doubt that. If you have iControl, I'd bet it's there. I also had trouble finding it at first at the advice from a friend. |

No problem, seemed postworthy when I heard-about-it/found-it.
I thought it was pretty cool it was even on there, but free. Can't beat that. Not the whole DVD I guess, but more of it than I had seen. Kim is a trip during the show... they all are... but they seem like they are having fun.... well, Joey does seem a little serious.... and Frank is just Frank... all business.... pickin up his next guitar when his part is over and Joey's still playin' the last song. Just the same today. TCB, mama.... plus tax.

Have no worries, sounds great on the DVD. It's selectable for both Dolby 5.1 or regular Stereo IIRC. |
