Was searching for Pixies stuff on a friends P2P software and came across an album by Johnny Cash called Boom Chicka Boom. Weird

Even weirder is that there is a song called Sixteen Tons on the album, and I'm sure that Frank makes some reference to "the drummer on Sixteen Tons" on the first Frank Black and The Catholics album.

Probably just weirdness, but worth a post....?

hey
that makes sense!
sixteen tons
everybody hears
SIXTEEN TOMS
like he has sixteen toms
but that never made sense
because it doesn't really sound like
much tomaction
so why would frank say it

sixteen tons

Who was the drummer on "Sixteen Tons," then?

And am I mistaken, or was it Tennessee Ernie Ford who sang the most famous version of that song?

I think (pretty sure) he's sayin "fifteen" somethin' or other...

and yup vovat, it was TEF who did the FAMOUS 16 tons...but JC liked to do the song live...and if THE man in black did it, y'know it had to rock!:)
