What makes a good band name? Campiness (B-52's), reference (Eurythmics), originality, appropriateness (Stray Cats), memorability, inscrutablity (a name becomes just a name), B-Movie horror?
I think word games drive people bonkers ("The B-Sharps, get it? It's funny at first...")
Some band names I've always liked, Dayglo Abortions, Vav's Jungle, Fear, Suicidal Tendencies, Iron Maiden, Morally Bankrupt, Motorhead, The Pixies ("I imagined nasty little people about yeah-high").
Some band names I never liked, a-ha, INXS, Mega-Death (it's mega-fun, mega-excellent <very inside>), Was not Wuz, Journey. |

| I was actually searching google for this thread when I found that NNDB thing. I sought out this thread because I thought "Jaffa Cakes" was a kick ass band name, and I wanted another run of made up bands names. So fire away kids. |

there used to be a website that generated random band names, and the best two "big gay hat" and "the expensive lesbians" - most of them had a synonym for 'gay' in there, but i don't think they meant it in a biggoted way.
