Does anybody have one of these? I would really like to hear a sample of the voice recorder so I can hear the quality. I replaced an iRiver H10 with a Samsung 925GS because the power button was broke, but the Samsung's built in mic sounds like shit, where the iRiver H10 sounded fuckin great. One of my primary reasons for getting an MP3 player is the ability to record demos and new song ideas quickly and easily. I'm gonna be trading the Samsung back for either a Zen Micro, which looks sooo cool and is feature-packed, or just get the H10 again, which is still an awesome player.
I guess I just wasn't made for these times. |

Weird, my friend just bought one yesterday. I can ask him about the quality though I doubt that I can get you a sample. BTW, have you been following the "call for volunteers" thread? Just wondering about your thoughts re: the song db.

It'd be cool if you could get a little clip of some acoustic playing and singing, but I can see how that'd be difficult. Lemme know.

Do not buy the Creative Zen Micro!!!
I bought one unit and was amazed with its size, technical specs, etc. however, when I started to use it, I realized that the battery got uncharged without using the device. For example, I used to go to work with the mp3 using it for 30 min. After 8 hours working when I went out the MP3 was completely uncharged and had no power even to show characters in the display.
I went to the mall where i bought it and the gave me a NEW UNIT, and guess what... happened exactly the same. Surfing the internet, i realized that this problem concerns to many more users. The Creative web site do not reply the messages that you drop there and the only thing that you can do is to update de firmware. I UPDATED THE FIRMWARE to the latest release, but the problem still persists.
Finally, I went again to the mall and fortunately they refunded me the money. Now i will invest this money in an Ipod :-)
Creative knows that the Zen Micro has a dramatic desing error in its electronics, but they prefered to release it to the market anyway. I just don't want other users to suffer the same problems. |

Re voice recorder, its in mono, and its no where near as good as a mini disc or anything...it fine for ideas, but you cant mp3 them up or anything liek that

I ended up getting the H10 again...it sounds really good. The unit locked up, so I had to replace it with another one...hopefully they'll work out the bugs in the next firmware.

what's all that stuff about not being able to replace the rechargable battery in the iPod without sending it back to them and being charged to hell for it to be replaced?

I've heard lots of horror stories from people with iPods. The thing is, they all seem to like them when they actually work, but you apparently can't get one without something going wrong with it, and then Apple charges a shitload of money to fix it, because they're the only ones who can.

I miss the days of the early tape walkman, when you could see the innards and sometimes even fix em yourself.
Our world is getting more and more out of our reach, when it looks like it's getting closer. It's like one of them damn side-view mirror warnings or something.

Anyone got one of those irivers? It's a German version of of the ipod I believe. My mate has one and she loves it. I am thinking about perhaps getting a portable MP3 player soon. I may go for one of them if there a lot of problems with ipods.

So why do so many companies start the names of their MP3 players and other products with the letter I?
