Damn can you imagine if the pixies have been practicing last year the whole time and maknig new songs. Frank did say in a magazine last year I think that hes afraid of doing a reunion cause no one would show up but they still play with each other :)

also, lots of ideas about space on the album tlm. do you think frank may have been using space and the universe as a metaphor for the internet and the information superhighway?
Trompe le Monde Why do cupids and angels continually haunt her dreams like memories of another life is painted on her shirt in capital out on the free free way there's only she an the they represented by the lights we went to the store and bought something great which samples this song from washington state go go little record go it is named by some guy named joe and the words are the letters of the words said electrically played for outer space and those of they who paid this song is twice ocurred and now its time to go away on holiday.

Yeah, I agree. However given the circumstances, Mr. Black could easily exploit the coincidence to his advantage. |

here it goes: They will release a new song on iTunes every 2 weeks They will sell it for 99 cent, the uber-fans buy it Because the Pixies do this without a record company they will get a high percentage of the sales (iTunes will get some too) When they have released 8-10 songs they will get a album out The album will have extra songs on it (like another 4-6) they will put it out on Spinart and Cooking Vinyl (I still believe this the 'taking advantage' frank spoke about). Besides the extra songs the record has good artwork and all the lyrics so people who bought all the iTunes will definately buy it again. Frank Black and possibly Kim Deal will own the rights to it, like Franks releases since COR, so they will get a good percentage out of the sales too. So basicly, with this tactic lot's of people will buy most of the songs twice. Hardcore fans will pay $9.99 for the iTunes songs and after that another $15,- for the cd.
I have no idea if it would work but it makes sense to me
Interesting idea, but I doubt that FB would use iTunes for this as most of his biggest fans are in Europe (not to mention Canada) and iTunes is not very widely available. Maybe with a different service? All I know is I hate iTunes more than I hate taffy. And from what I understand, they take a pretty big cut for themselves, though I'll have to look that up again to be sure.
I also think it's interesting that it's already recorded. With reference to Trompe Le Monde, this can mean one of three things for me:
1) The new album is a compilation of stuff that was recorded long ago. Either b-sides unreleased, alternate mixes, or other material like that. This presumes that the new album hasn't already been released under the title "Wave of Mutilation".
2) The upcoming Frank Black Francis is nothing like those Pale Boys' Mixes, which were always intended to be leaked in order to protect the true identity of the album, which is an actual Pixies album. The title is appropriate as it is symbolic of him coming to terms with his past.
3) Honeycomb, which you will recall was recorded immediately after some rehearsals in LA, was also recorded right before their warm-up tour. Suspiciously close. Close enough that the rehearsals in LA could very well have included another 10-15 songs that they were prepping for studio time in Nashville. And it always struck me as unusual that none of the other Catholics were in on the session, solo album or no. This is the type of music they've been playing since DITS, and they do it very well (of course, this is countered by the fact that he might've been going for a completely different sound). And it explains the very limited setlist (Frank Black is known to have 50+ songs ready for live) for their live shows as well as the focus on earlier stuff that they've played more. It gave them more rehearsal time for the new stuff.
So there you have it. A Pixies album in Nashville? A release titled Frank Black Francis slated for this fall? A compilation / b-sides revisited CD? I'd be OK with either, and though I was really looking forward to an FB album in Nashville, I'd be equally excited for a Nashville-style Pixies album. Though it'd be great to have a new Pixies album and a new FB album, too. In any case, it's going to be a great year for music. Oh! There is one more option I forgot to include:
4) I've been so thoroughly fooled that I have no clue what's going on and won't know until it's released.

about iTunes: It's avaible in Europe so that's problem is solved they won't release only on iTunes it just for some extra bucks only for the uber-fans of course the songs will be mp3ed and posted everywhere but enough people will buy them and again when the cd is released just my idea of a real capitalistic move

i remember reading that a friend suggested the "Trompe Le Monde" to Frank, when they were getting ready to release it he liked it and figured that one of the songs should be called Trompe Le Monde, so he changed the name of (whatever it was called) to Trompe Le Monde. the song never really had anything to do with the theme of the title, at least to begin with.

Man Mad Lucas, I thought they were aliens or zombies but the wax model theory is way deeper than I ever thought it would be. Scary but true...huh. Here's a link for more info: http://www.madame-tussauds.com/
Floop that's interesting. I was thinking about this and I think I would rather believe that the Pixies planned this all a long vs. the break up over fax being the real deal. It seems cooler in a way.

I like Dean's number 2. Um, so to speak. Its a proper conspiracy theory, which is always nice. It sounds unlikely, but then FB has never been overly predictable, so I guess its a possibility. Cooking Vinyl have had it pencilled in for ages, which would back up those saying the reunion is just the tip of the iceberg and the Pixies have been together for a while.

With regards to the theory that the Nashville sessions yielded a new Pixies album....weren't the Breeders (with special guest Joey Santiago for Gigantic) playing shows in LA the week that the FB Nashville sessions were taking place? |

WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSH*T!
So we're supposed to believe that Errol is telling total strangers of this sh*t? Chicken just happens to bump into this guy who had a half hour more with Errol during which Errol told him even bigger secrets. So this guy promises not to tell anyone what Errol said, but of course he tells Chicken.
Chicken then posts a thread called "***BREAKING NEWS!!! Inside info PART 2***" - but then goes on to say "The title of this thread is kind of misleading. I can't tell you anything." Kind of misleading? Yeah, that title is slightly misleading isn't it? But I guess it does get you the attention you seem to need.
Chicken then goes on to say, "I'm sorry I can't tell you anything, but this is about my integrity towards Errol, Chuck and the Pixies as well." Well, apparently Chicken's integrity doesn't keep him from bringing up the whole thing to start with and luckily his integrity does allow him to drop hints and provide clues! He writes, "All I can say is: read my other BREAKING NEWS!!! thread again, and again, and maybe you'll draw the right conclusion." Oh I do love a mystery!
Of course Chicken's thread concludes with one last hint, "what was the title of the last Pixies album?" Hey, this is like trying to figure out who was the bad guy on Scooby Doo! I'll just go over that first thread with a fine toothed comb and try to solve that riddle of the last album title. A quick search on the web tells me it's Trompe Le Monde. Wow, that was pretty easy. Now I just have to put everything together. |

Well, fool the world. That's what chicken did, I'm afraid.
I never took his report serious and I'm surprised how many of you do. But it's a well told story anyway.

Well, I'm having fun though I do agree that if you know something you either spill it or shut your mouth. Obviously I have some access to insider info and it seems like the wrong thing to do to say "I know something you don't". But I don't really believe that anyone knows anything about a new album yet, so I'm not going to be too offended by the two-headed-one and instead postulate intriguing theories for the sake of feeding the rumour mill.
That's all. Relax, enjoy life.

Wait now, there have been four Pixies albums released since TLM. Don't forget DTTP, Live at the BBC, Complete B-Sides, Pixies (PTs) and Wave of Mutilation. So what was the title of the last Pixies album? Wave of Mutilation. What does that mean?

Chicken -- START CLUCKING!
There is no way anyone will find out it was "you". Just sign up with a new name and say you're one of the assuredly dozens of other people who have access to this info, and then just SAY IT.
We're all fans here and we will do nothing but GOOD for the Pixies and the Thompson family by knowing what our favorite artists are doing.
SPILL IT, CHICKEN!

I'm sorry, I won't tell anything about it.
Errol is looking for an appartement in Amsterdam or Berlin. If he decides to buy one in Amsterdam he might invite me for a nice cup of coffee. If I tell you the story, he also might invite me, but put some poison in it...

"Honeycomb?, ah, it's good..." "Better than Show me your tears?" "I thinks so, yes, but it's different, that's because it's not live recorded" "Recorded in 24 tracks right?" "Yeah, it sounds slick, but it's damn good" He tells about the difference between this and a Catholics record. All different sudio artists, completely different sound compared to the Catholics stuff. Honeycomb is already completely finished, waiting for it's release. He couldn't tell me the date of release though. Couldn't believe my ears when he tells me he owns three different versions of that album...
I'm thinking the three versions thing is a hint, no?

I've been going over all of Chicken's posts and amazingly there is an intricate pattern emerging.
In Chicken's posts, not only are there countless clues to this entire Pixies mystery but apparently DaVinci has left some sort of a code in his paintings. I now know who really shot JFK, the truth about Roswell, secrets of Area 51, the burial site of Jimmy Hoffa and the recipe for McDonalds secret sauce.
Although I've discovered many revelations, my integrity towards Chicken's intergrity does not allow me to devulge the secrets. I did however feel that I should post and tell everyone that I know things that you don't know. When the time is right, and you find out what I know that you don't know, you will either have an instantaneous and uncontrollable orgasm or you will be totally pissed. I know that makes everyone want to know even more but if I tell, then I would have to kill all of you and I just don't have the time or resources for that.
I will leave you with this small hint. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? |
