So what's your thoughts on the Scissor Sisters? They've a few good songs on the album methinks. Also some shit on there too.

Take Your Mama & Tits On The Radio - Funny, cool songs.
Comfortably Numb - The BeeGees covers Pink Floyd and it is not too bad.
Can't Come Quickly - Dunno why but I like this
Return To Oz - Hedwig would've killed to perform this one.

The rest of the album I skip. Better Luck sounds exactly like Robbie Williams. Shit.

I can just about listen to take your momma out. Just, I predict the novelty will last as long as that of electric six

Yep, fair to note they're a bit of a novelty. What the heck, I'm enjoying the few songs for now.

I quite like it, against my better judgement. The songs are really, really catchy. We play it a lot at work, and its fun.

Kind regards,
Simon

The Floyd cover is terrible. A travesty!

I like the whole album quite a bit. I agree that it's REALLY catchy. And the Comfortably Numb cover is kind of cool, I think.

I will be seeing them at V Festival in August so I will get to hear more of their stuff. Maybe I will check the album out too sometime.

They are surprisingly good live - (as are Electric Six, who are totally underated live). Sissor Sisters were one of my best gigs of the year - really camp theatrical fun and can really get the crowd going unlike so many other bands I've seen where they could have just stuck the damn cd on and it would have been as good.

Apparantly they were the stars of Glastonbury. I am quite looking forward to seeing them at V now. Obviously not as much as my beloved Pixies though.

Have you seen the tattoo on Ana's right arm? It's most unusual, it looks as though she has pealed her flesh back to reveal part of a robotic arm.

My local NPR played "Take Your Momma" earlier today.

Man, I had to turn off the radio.

Crap.

don't judge the entire album on "take your mama" - I it's a catchy album (skip Better Luck as Offerw says - it sounds exactly like the fat dancer Robbie Williams) - it's a crowd pleaser at work which is impressive considering the very broad range of musical tastes here.

And I loooooove their version of Comfortably Numb.

Another one worth checking out for Pink Floyd covers is Dub Side of the Moon. Dark Side of the Moon done dub reggae stylee and works brilliantly. I love it as a non Pink Floyd fan and my husband loves it as a Pink Floyd fan.

I just heard their version of Comfortably Numb on KEXP and if there is a heaven & hell they will burn in hell for what they did to that song.

Well, the novelty has worn off. My cd is going to the 2nd hand bin at the local record shop. At least it was entertaining for a while.

what the f***?! do you own the electric six album? it's amazing! i love it. a great album to put on before you go out... you must be absolutely mad!

i don't mind the scissor sisters, can't listen to the album too much, but once a month is fine.

i didn't catch scissor sisters this summer but my gf saw them at glasto twice, and in the dance tent they were amazing apparently.

and yeah, dead right! electric six are fantastic live. it always annoys me that people leave straight after gay bar and don't bother staying for a bit of radio ga ga... and the 'stop' [insert random gospel singing or shouting] 'continue' thing is genius.

I am catching up with new music these days, and just bought their album.

I find it very enjoyable : some songs are incredibly funny. I wish I had seen them live.

I hated Conforably Numb. My favorite song is Mary. But then again, I've been going through my collection of Love records these days. Must be the "new girlfriend" effect.

Mary is as bad as Cumfortably Numb IMO. It's like really bad Elton John.

It is like bad Elton John indeed. But it is quite enjoyable. And I like early Elton John.

It's no Crocodile Rock. Laura is their best song by far, again IMO.

Mary sounds like a song by the dismal fat dancer from Stoke
