Your thoughts?
I really enjoy it myself. I think "Sally Is A Girl" (one of the new songs, for those who'd heard the first mini-album) is amazing. And I'm a sucker for that wah-wah.
(Ex-Throwing Muses) bassist Bernard Georges and Drummer Rob Ahlers are quite phenomenal. I'm really looking forward to seeing them live. Although from the reports I've seen, the possibility of lasting hearing loss should be seriously considered.
"Pneuma" is the last song I still have problems with. I still haven't found the Kristin Hersh song buried under all the croaking and screaming and distortion. Please listen to the intro to that song and tell me if it sounds to you like something off one of the first 2 Catholics albums. Sure does to me. Can't quite put my finger on it though.

Yep, pretty much love it. Sally Is A Girl is super-fine, but I still think the highlights are the tracks from the mini - that was such a good record.
Seriously though, if you think punk had expressed everything it could, try Golden Ocean. And definitely catch them live.

I really like it, but I already know I'll need to listen to it 20 or 30 times to realize how good it is.

Well, what about this to revive it?

50 Foot Wave live at Radio Bremen, 2 October 2004 (flac).
Seeded by yet another of these excellent Dutch people. Grab it while it's hot!
(Personally I prefer the show from the previous day in Amsterdam, but that doesn't seem to be up anymore.)
