Remember when Jo was posting from 4ad about the missing hey? I'm pretty sure in the post I read about a new best of pixies cd sometime later. I could swear I read that in that post somewhere

I hate all this best of shit.... without adding any new material then whats the fucking point of releasing yet another bullshit 'best of.' Nowadays you can buy the 4 albums very cheap, so it makes no sense.

Stuart, the reason for the Best Of... oh hell, where's Jop when you need him?
Remember, it isn't geared at fans who've bought the records 13 years ago - it's at people who have only just heard of the Pixies. People who are going to festivals and seeing them for the first time and hearing the music, people who have seen the Fight Club and heard 'Where Is My Mind' for the first time, people who saw that Smirnoff ad and wondered what that music was ('Tame').
As far as adding new material goes, 4AD doesn't own the rights to anything new - Bam Thwock is 100% Pixies owned - so that's why they're doing it themselves via the iTunes store, and good on them I say!
As far as a new Best Of, there are corrected 'Wave Of Mutilation's being made, complete with 'Hey' |

i heard they aren't going to include Bam Thwok on the new one because Kim was drinking too much. |

bam thwok is really 100% pixies owned, it isn't even published by BMI or I was too stupid to find it in the charles thompson or kim deal list

Come on pilgrim was an EP, hence why it is now part of a complete album (surfer rosa). To compromise, i suppose it is a "mini" album.
Well thats why i didn't include it, and i could list what i own to prove i'm not a dumbass (well, not that much of a one anyway!)
