Forgive me HPM.
For those not in the know, this is a sort of "Anti-Idol" show. The contestants believe they are good singers and have been whittled away until these final contestants (very bad) are remaining. The celebrity judges are Tone-Loc, Vitamin C, and some dude named Briggs. The early episodes featured some truly ridiculous looking people, but they could somewhat sing. The Final Four are truly brutal, none of them have heard each other sing and next weeks show features a duet! This should prove to be highly entertaining.

Sounds more like a show you'd find on Fox than the WB...

Yeah, I don't agree with the concept either, though I'd love to put some of the people we've auditioned on there as justice for my ear damage.
I mean, really, laughing at other people who are being deceived and made a complete fool of on international television, that's got to be traumatic. There's really no excuse.

I just wonder what these people are going to do when they find out what's really going on. |

Ignorance is no excuse! Even if their feelings are hurt, they will be compensated, they after all are now quasi-celebrities. I think they have to be in on it to some capacity, there is no way that the contestants' families haven't said something to them. If someone ends up crying, I might change my vote, until then - FUNNY!

I think it's kind of mean. I mean, I'd be awfully embarrassed if I were in that situation and found out about it. I have to wonder whether the awful singers have ever bothered listening to recordings of themselves, though.

It's the funniest show I've seen for a long, long time. We're always quoting it.
And the worst singer in America walks away with lots of money. (and a recording deal worth $100,000, along with the immense fame and potential earning power derived from starring in a network television series)
I have a feeling, though, that the viewers are the ones who are actually fooled. These singers seem like actors (and it does seem like a mean joke), so they'll annouce it was the audience who's fooled.
