50 Foot Wave, their debut EP- It's got 5 or 6 songs. If you get a chance download the songs "Bug", "Clara Bow", and "Long Painting".

"Clara Bow" sounds exactly like Nirvana- I thought it was a cover when I first heard it.

I've heard OF Primus' cover of "Scissor Man," but I've never actually heard it. I think the Loser's Lounge cover by Robin Goldwasser (wife of John Flansburgh) is really good, but it's a little more obscure.

ouais! j'adore "dans les faux puits rouges..." je l'avais sur une vielle k7 pourave que j'ai réécouté l'autre jour (ça devait au moins faire 5 ans que je l'avais pas ressortie), et il y a pas à dire: "la mer", c'est le tube du XXème siècle!
par contre je connais pas Dedalus, c'est dans le même esprit?

"La Mer"? Un tube? Tu l'as entendu à la radio?

A mon avis "Dedalus" est encore meilleur que les "Faux puits", il est à la fois plus déconneur et moins bricolo. Mais mon préféré c'est "Grand public" (leur 1er album américain). Très pro mais tout aussi délirant.

Si tu songes à les racheter en cd, prends plutôt la compil "Radio", c'est un double album qui en donne pour son argent (45 titres dont 27 raretés et inédits très sympa). Highly recommended.

Ouais! Grand Public à fond! Et Dedalus est tellement cool qu'il y a une reprise de Chris Knox dessus.
Par contre le best of m'a gavé, je l'écoute jamais. Je sais pas trop pourquoi.

et oui, mais quelle triste époque: les carottes sont cuites et les petits lapins sont morts

merci du conseil pour Dedalus et Grand Public, j'essaierai de trouver ça à l'occaz

pour "la mer", c'est juste que j'adorais ce morceau quand j'étais gamin (c'est mon frangin qui écoutait ça à la base), et quand je l'ai re-découvert, ça a été comme quand tu regoûtes un des ces vieux bombecs que tu bouffais quand tu était petit et comme tu avais oublié comme c'était bon (...ouh la la attention, si ça continue, je vais écrire un bouquin à la Philippe Delerm)
