In the next few weeks I'll be retabbing some Pixies tabs and also releasing brand new ones (including Letter to Memphis, Palace of the Brine, and Nimrod's Son - Joey parts included).
Maybe the reunion got me re-pumped about the Pixies so I want to tab the songs now.
That's all.

Ok, if you want to work on that one that'd be cool. I've got the three I mentioned in the can (the tab for Letter to Memphis on the site right now is pretty off).

haha, yeah I had my time with that shit too... But guitarpro really is easy and fun as hell... You can also export the tabs to MIDI (which I have done) http://www.smashitup.net/midi/ Mr. Grieves & Tame are mine... You can also import MIDIs and swhwooschinck... You have a tab

after much searching for a tab that didn't just have "high g note" as the lead guitar (which it is, for some parts) i found this:
G|--10--8------5--4------------------5--4------------10--8 D|----------5--------5--3--h5-----5--------5--3--h5------- |

i add a few muted strums between the sets of notes. let me know what you think. theres the odd string and note missin me thinks but it gets me by |

not a problem. glad to help.
sounds sweet my friend. just feel the tune and let it out frank style....sounds more accurate with that awesome drumbeat behind ya too
one of the only bands i know to use all four musicians as individuals. too many bands just use bass and drums as a basic rhythm section. that sux (in my opinion) fuck! get yaself a metranome.

For the rhythmn part of "Here Comes Your Man", does Frank use open chords, or bar chords? I played it with open chords, but it doesn't sound right.

at brixton frank played the chorus with open chords, and what i've seen of the verses frank just strums the D, A, Em and G chords as open too. playing barre chords to the chorus gives it more ummph! which i find sounds better when playing along.
I'm pretty positive that they're open my friend.

Pixies
Song: Palace of the Brine
Album: Trompe Le Monde
Tabbed: ProverbialCereal
-Drop D tuning-
In a place they say is dead
in the lake that's like an ocean
i count about a billion head
all the time
there's a motion
palace of the brine
i saw the cloning
of the famous family
i heard the droning
in the shrine
of the sea-monkey
palace of the brine
beneath reflections in the fountain
the starry sky and utah mountains
they are swimming happily
can't you see
a life that's so sublime
palace of the brine.

I'm debating whether this song tunes down 1/2 step as well, but
it doesn't seem like it is necessary.
Key:
^ = bend upward half step or whole step
rb = release bend
r = release bend
/ = slide up fret
\ = slide down fret
p = pull off

Do you think the guitars are either tuned up or played with a capo on 1st fret? (like the Happening/Havalina)
That way they're both in the key of D.
Just a thought. |

I play Palace Of The Brine tuned down half a step, the barrechord Eb sounds a little blockier than than on the record to me.

As this has become a tab symbol FAQ, I guess C//D (on 21 reasons) means a slide from the C barre chord to D, am I wrong?
