At the midway point of the third it's 44-43 Spurs, but I'm still enjoying this game. They're all going hard. The Spurs came out looking like garbage but they've really stepped it up.

I know now I am definitely for the Pistons, I was knida undecided, not being a big fan of either team or any fucking player on the court

But

Chauncey Billups, as I said in my last post, is a Great fucking player. He really played well. Go Pistons.

They must be underdogs I guess, usually happens to teams I go for

game over, good game, fuckin shitty fuckin result

And by the way Fuck Manu Ginobili =)

I'm definitely rooting for the Pistons as well, and was very impressed with Billups tonight. I don't see how you can hate Ginobli so much, though.

I think Manu is awesome. I missed all but last 3 minutes of the game, but every time I have seen Manu play, he has worked his ass off.

So how many games do you see this thing going? Any picks?

I don't want to predict because I don't think the outcome is going to be what I want it to be. (spurs in 6)

I want the Pistons but it will take 7 in all likihood, that's why I am enjoying the series so much.

And as I said, the only player I really give a shit about is Billups.

I don't like Manu, he does play very hard which I wish more players would, but he doesn't play honest defense, he flops all the time and fakes shit. And he just doesn't look right to me on the court, he can't shoot, he can't play defense, all he has is speed and balls. He's not a bad player, but I don't like his game at all. To me, he's the wack wannabe version of Iverson, which is better than the average player. I'm sorry, I don't have a great reason, I jsut can't stand his game. It's like some insane soccer/futbal player has invaded the NBA and is going ballistic like a ferral cat in a crate. I much perfer the grace of a Tiger.

Anyway, Pistons in 5!!!!! =)

Pistons for me too. I don't dislike the Spurs (in fact I like Duncan), but I like the scrapiness of the Pistons. Spurs in 6 sounds right, but it should be a great series.

My sister graduated in the same class as Duncan, (this I am a wake fan), I got to see him play a few times in college. He's a great player and it was awesome to see him fulfill his potential in the NBA, but he is terribly boring to watch most of the time.

Yeah, Ginobli's a real flopper. I can't deny that, and I really hate it too. However, in the last couple years he's singlehandedly almost made me enjoy watching the Spurs.

He flops and he takes 3 steps every time he gets the ball. He knows how to take advantage of the refs.

His numbers are actually pretty damn nice. I can definitely see the fan appeal with his great intensity. I should probably take back a few things I said. I don't hate him, he just annoys the shit out of me.

I thought the in your face, lane-driving, left-handed throw down followed by the 3-pointer with 2 minutes left was pretty focking impressive. The Pistons better work on their shooting, way too many bricks going up.

Manu is the only thing making this series exciting. It's watchable and solid basketball, but all the excitment, the unpredictability, and "did-you-see-that?" plays will come from Manu.

Taking three steps every time you get the ball is standard practice in the NBA, no?

Finally Detroit shows up. Ben dug out the knife, Billups and Hamilton stuck it in, then they brought out McDyess to twist it just a little. I can't remember the last time I saw Duncan so frustrated, this is a series now!

It would be really nice to actually be cheering for one of these teams, but at least it's a series now.

That was a great game, people were jumping off the Pistons bandwagon left and right because they looked so shitty in the first two games. They played great it certainly looked like they could do that every game, that is wasn't just a fluke performance. And they shut Manu down, he looked like a fool out there, I loved it.

Bill Simmons is seriously the funniest sport writer out there. This is a great read (as is all his work):

Hell yeah LBF. Fun series. I hope Larry Brown is back next year because he puts a great team on the court. I think the Pistons are going to win game 7. Those guys are tough.

And it's good to hear that the NBA will be back again next year. And with Phil Jackson back I'll have even more reason to hate the Lakers and maybe they'll be good enough for anyone to carry about them.

Every sports writer in the country is picking Spurs. I'd love to see them all be wrong. Somewhere during this series I've become a Pistons fan. Unless Horry is going to be the miracle maker, Pistons got it.

I want to see Big Ben take over the game with some D and Billups tearing it up at the other end. I'm pumped for this game.

Me, too.

I still can't believe the NBA's marketing people were stupid
enough to let Phil make his announcement when he did. Should have
waited.

Me too, I'm pumped. I will be sad when it's over because no more basketball for a few months.

Everyone is talking about Duncan being a choke artist. It's funny that if they win or lose Duncan will get all the credit or blame.

I think it's going to be a battle, I don't expect a blow out.

And I feel special because Billups is getting so much praise, I have to say I called that.

Ya, pretty much. It's pretty frustrating. He drives, gets fouled, no call. He drives, throws up some crap, no foul, but one is called. This is why defensive teams are boring. All good defense is a borderline foul when you're guarding the star players with the quick moves. So it's all left up to the refs.

You're right though, I didn't know Billups was MVP last year, I guess I wasn't paying as close attention as I am this year. That's embarrassing. Anyway.

My prediction: Pistons 94 Spurs 89
