I'm watching. I'm conflicted. Do I root against Shaq because he's boring (and often an ass)? Or, do I root for him because I just hate Kobe that much? |

I think, therefore I am. I think it will be great to see all the subplots of a Spurs-Heat series (as much as I wanted the Suns to move on). Shaq v. Duncan, Flash v. Manu (I love Manu, but I can't get behind the Spurs). Also, Flash v. Bowen will be great. One of the most physical offensive players (Wade) versus a very physical (and dirty) defender in Bowen. Should be great. I think Tony Parker is a major X factor in this series, because if can consistently penetrate the (somewhat weak) Heat perimeter D, they'll be in trouble. He should be able to drive around Damon Jones easily, and then dish to Duncan or Manu or "Mr. Playoffs" Robert Horry. Scary. This forum needs more basketball nerds.

I want the Heat to win. Obviously they can't do it without Wade, not a chance in hell. And I also think he has to be pretty close to 100% and they gotta get points from the Jonesz and Haslem. Theyve got the squad on paper to win. Home court should help, but I admit that I am not optimistic, this could be a blow out.
And I don't dislike Shaq (I won't defend Kobe). What is it with everyone always saying Shaq is a loser? I mean I have some friends who know Nothing about basketball but as soon as we end up in a discussion about it they always inevitbaly say how they cannot stand Shaq because he has no skill and he's just big. I like Shaq, you'll miss him when he's gone. Go Heat!!!

How quickly you've forgotten how he had to practice his friggin' freethrows because he wasn't getting them in.

All I'm saying, LBF, is that, especially lately, Shaq's a textbook example of getting my on size not skils.

Size really doesn't mean a fucking thing, you have to be able to move and use your size. Look at Earl Boykins and the year and playoff series he had, he's 5 foot 5 and dropped 32 ponits on the Spurs in a playoff game. Being big doesn't do shit for unless you know how to use. Size alone doesn't win 3 NBA championships, sorry.

I used to be a Shaq hater, but now as he is in the twilight of his career, and has settled into more of leadership role off-court and a decoy role on court, and as a number two to a truly gifted all-round player like DWade, I've come to really like him. He always brings energy and a positive attitude, he's extremely quotable, and he's seems like a genuine guy who's unconcerned with 'image'. At the begning and middle of his career, I felt like he had more attitude about his game, which, removing his 7ft 350lbs frame, would not be an NBA calibre game. But for a man his size, he moves (moved) very well.

I don't think Shaq is untalented. He's big, but there's many big guys that can't move or handle the ball. I just think his game is boring. Plus, he was a Laker. And I hate the Lakers. But, it brings joy to see Kobe fail when the big man is gone. |

That sucks, I thought the Heat might win it.
That was a really great game to watch.
Rasheed came up big towards the end (the new bad boy Horry) and Chauncey Billups is a fuck great point gaurd.
I still can't get into RiP because he played with Jordan with the Wizards. Elden Campbell? Seriously. Prince played for Kentucky, not cool.
Billups is my favorite player on their team...
Although the ratings will totally bomb, I think it's going to be a really good finals.
damn, I'm let down... I don't know. It's hard to have a foavorite team, I don't have one in NBA, I just like a lot of players

Well, it's up to Manu to provide the excitement in the finals this year. I don't like the Spurs (but I love Manu!), so I guess I'm cheering for he Pistons. But I love Manu! Oh, what to do?

I'll take the Spurs in 7. Both sides can play lock-down D, but the offensive edge has to go to SA.

I do enjoy watch Rip running around wearing out the other team and Ben Wallace is fun. And, Rasheed is a gamer.
I think it'll be a good series. Spurs have more talent, but I think Larry Brown and Pistons play smart. Plus, Duncan is hobbled right now and he may end up playing below 100%. |

Someone should step under Bowen and have him land on their foot and tear his ankle tendons off. See how he likes it (I'm still in physio for it). I'm with LBF.

I totally agree. Bowen is one of those absolute hate-him-when-he-plays-against-you, love-him-when-he-plays-for-you guys in the playoffs. Being a mavs fan I hate him, but not as badly as previous years since my team flamed out before playing him.

Two reasons to love the two Wallaces: • Ben Wallace's tattoo of Big Ben • Rasheed Wallace's response when asked what he'd say to George W. Bush when the Pistons visited the White House: "I don't have (expletive) to say to him. I didn't vote for him. It's just something we have to do."
