LOL, no way. The Pacers won't be able to make it by the Pistons. And if they did, I would bet money that they don't win a single game in The Finals against the Lakers. |

Yeah. I don't see it going 7 games. But I guess it would be exciting if it did. LA vs. Detroit, baby. |

Well, you were wrong.
[EDIT]
Way to change that shit dude(s)? Darwin, WTF, you edited that shit, bullshit...
I still want to punch Barkley in the face for saying that the Lakers were done after they went down 0-2 to the Spurs. That cocksucker was never held accountable for saying that, and he was dead wrong. And Anthony A. Smith, you can SAFO too...
Anyway, if you read above I predicted Detriot Pistons as the sleeper, and look where they are now, 1-up on the Lakers in the NBA Finals... Seems like the 76ers did that once too... and then they got swept... I would be shocked and something Phish if the Lakers don't win this one...
As much as I want to Love the East... and I do...
I want the Lakers to win...
I am quite confused by my inner most desire for the Lakers to win when I live in West Virginia USA

I just want to see that carpetbagger Malone cry. His performance tonight should get the tear ducts primed and ready.
And, how can anyone but a longtime Lakers fan want to see anything happen that will make Kobe happy. Even before the rape charges, I hated that cocky punk.
Tonight was sweet, but still I'm guessing the Lakers wil win. (70% chance Lakers are champs) |

I'm not much into basketball, or sports in general. I will try to adapt to fit in for the sake of looking cool.
What inning is it?

God damn motherfuckers. I hate those Lakers, but they sure know how to pull out games. Why don't any of teams ever do that?
I even down 0-2, I wouldn't have counted the Lakers out. But now the Pistons have to be down, even though they split in LA. |

I'm riding high. The perfect scenario is happening: Malone goes down, Lakers are stabbing each other in the backs at secret meetings, and now Kobe won't give the ball to Shaq. Lakers are going to lose this series and lose Jackson or Kobe before next season. And, Shaq will still be overweight.

<obnoxious sports talk mode>
What in the past 4 games has suggested that the Lakers have any ability to beat the Pistons? They only have 2 good, healthy players and rather than worry about how they going to improve their game they are spending all of their time whining about the refs. Phil Jackson is a punk.
</obnoxious sports talk mode>
I'm also biased. I hate the Lakers and I have a big $20 riding on the series.

I haven't seen any reports of trouble in Detroit other than the dismantling of the Lakers. It's not often that the heavily favored team gets totally dominated. Now I just need a Red Sox championship to make my year complete. |

Who else is happy Gary Payton will finish his career without a ring?
And that cranky, bitter old fart Red Auerbach must've partied pretty hard last night. |

Oroiginally posted by Darwin I think
Now I just need a Red Sox championship to make my year complete.
For me, my dad is going to be 64 years old this year, he's loved the Red Sox since he was living off 5$ a week back in the 50's. I just pray he sees the Sox win one before he dies.
Red sox, sensitive subject with me, family matters (I love ambiguity).
As for the Pistons, It's really bittersweet for me.
I've been wanting the East to win for the past 5 years, and they finally do, but just to see Malone and Payton look like douchebags kinda hurts...
Never mind
Peace out thread, until next year, Go Sox! |

Ouch, that loss hurt. But now I know without a doubt that the Lakers aren't my favorite sports team. Didn't even come CLOSE to crying. Unlike the Cubs game 7 loss last year. :( First time my fiance saw me cry. Sob, even. |

No kidding, LBF. I watched the tip off (Heat vs Pistons) then got too freezing cold in my drenched clothes (I walked two miles in the rain...long story) and blew off the game. How's it going?
btw, Spurs all the way, if you ask me.
I still believe in the excellent joy of the Catholics |

the most exciting finals would certainly be heat-suns. of course, the two most boring teams to watch (in this case, boring means they play good defense) will battle it out, spurs and pistons. I will predict the pistons to repeat, although I hope I'm wrong. |

I was bummed when my Mavericks choked against the Suns. Or should I say against the Phoenix Steve Nashes. That guy did just about everything to beat the mavs. 48 points, two triple doubles, big 3 pointer after big 3 pointer. Career highs in points, rebounds and assists in consecutive games. Anyway, I'm a little bitter because I thought the mavs could have given the spurs a good series, but doubt it. Probably spurs/detroit, even though it seems like the entire media crowned the heat after their first two round sweeps (of cupcakes). Wade is pretty amazing, though. Like to see him go off if he can break down Detroit's defense better than he did in game one. Pretty phenomenal athlete. Anyway, I say Spurs in the end.
All of the true things I am about to tell you are shameless lies |
