Why don't they just give the title to the next team that can score 100 points. That would save everybody a lot of time. That game last night was brutal, how hard is it to hit a free throw?? At least there were more baskets made than fouls called. Do you think that timekeeper in San Antonio still has a job??

I don't know.
I can't believe the T-Wolves are up 3-2 vs the Kings
Lakers got lucky... "One lucky shot deserves another."
???
And the Heat are gonna eliminate the Pacers, despite Artest and On'Neal
Unless Reggie the dick-bag Miller takes a shot for once |

Yep, it's not looking good for this Laker-hater. But, maybe the Kings can win Wednesday night (it should be a great game) and then give the Lakers a good fight. |

Kobe had the best dunk over Duncan, that was phemomenal I jupmed past the rim, stopped in mid air, and dunked hard backwards
I couldn't help but get the creeps in his post game interview when he was talking about penetration of the lane... ew
Derek Fisher is the charge master whoverer mentioned that above... anyway |

Nice play design the other night by Rick Adelman-- get Anthony Peeler to hit Kevin Garnett with a couple cheap shots in hope he'd retaliate and get suspended. God I hate the Kings. |

That's the Kings. I hope that if they make it past the Wolves that we get to see Christie vs. Fox II. That would be perfect. |

Is Rick Fox injured? I think his thumb is kaput. Hopefully he'll be ready for the next series.
Tonight I'll sit back and watch the Kings and Wolves beat the crap out of each other. |

Hey, a .500 team gave you a run for your money. Don't get me wrong, I like the Pacers and Reggie (U-C-L-A!). At least the Pacers can usually score some points when they need to. But please Pacers-- beat the Pistons or Nets. Their kinda ugly basketball has gotta go. |

You mean the same play the Wolves pulled on the Brad Miller and the Kings the previous game?
And, Garnett did retaliate and didn't lose any playing time. |

I didn't see Garnett elbow anyone in the jaw. Apparently the officials didn't either, even though the NBA said they watched it from seven different angles.
Even if Garnett did retaliate, the history of NBA officiating shows that they will never treat a scrub like Brad Miller (or Anthony Peeler) with the respect they give an MVP. I don't think they are singling out the Kings in that regard. It's the way it's always been. |

Miller was in the All Star game, so while he's not an MVP he also is not a scrub.
I never claimed the Kings were being singled out, but I it's think wrong to single the Kings out for trying to getting one of the Wolves ejected when the Wolves pulled the same stunt in the previous game. |

It's funny people talking about the Wolves getting preferential treatment. That's like the first time ever for them then. They usually get the raw end of a deal. Whatever happened between Peeler and Garnett, Peeler threw the "punch" to Garnett's face, and Garnett didn't retaliate to that act, which he could have...so he did show very good sense in restraining himself from retaliating to that last punch.
If the Wolves have Sam Cassell healthy, they should be in good shape...if not, they'll lose.

Who has talked about the Wolves getting preferential treatment??
One view is that Peller's punch to Garnett's face was in retaliation to Garnett's elbow to Peller's gut. I'm not whining about the suspension (Peller's punch was bigger and more obvious than Garnett's), but again the Wolves pulled the same crap in the previous game and Miller got thrown out.
And if the Kings had Bobby Jackson this series would be over. So, no whining about Cassell. |

But LBF, isn't that the great thing about sports? You can talk about your team in the first person like you actually had something to do with a win or loss. Have discussions with your friends. "I think we're going to be better this year with the addition of _______." "Our hitting is much improved." "I'm pissed off because we don't play defense." "We stomped you guys last night." "You guys are really shooting well from the perimeter." "You'll need to give it 110% to beat us." |

I'm just referring to the comments about Garnett not being suspended because he's the MVP or whatever, and Anthony Peeler getting 2 games. That's just something I've heard other than here for the most part. That would be the preferential treatment I guess.
Just watch last years Lakers/Wolves first round matchup and tell me if the Wolves got any beneficial calls in that series...they had to battle the Lakers and the refs in that series. Believe me, the Wolves deserve a little preferential treatment.
Actually, I lost a lot of respect for basketball over the past couple of years just because most of the fouls called by refs are just judgement calls, and they differ between who's reffing the game. A foul in one game is not in another. That's not right.
But...on to the Lakers!

Last night one had to draw blood to get called for a foul. I don't like the idea that refs call playoff games differently than regular games (the old let the players decide the game philosophy). If it's a foul in January it should be a foul in May and June (and whenever the playoff marathon ends).
Go Wolves! (My hope for a Lakers defeat is fading) |

The Wolves have a chance. Although if you listen to the "analysts", they don't give them a shot. They're just bandwagon jumpers.

did anyone see that block by Teyshaun Prince on Miller in game 2? As much as I hate the state of michigan and everything that resides in it, Reggie Miller is near the top of my most hated athletes. I have never seen an arrogant 6'7 twig talk about himself in the third person more than Miller. The way he pulled up before that layup ALMOST looked like he was tanking it..... Maybe our friend Reggie had some money on the game???? you heard it hear first |

That was a great block. I just have a problem with defensive Eastern Conference basketball. It's painful to watch. The two teams set a record for blocked shots but what's the big deal? Almost all those shots would've clanked off the rim anyway. |

that was a sweet block, i didn't really watch much of the game, I was out of town drinking up here in Charlottesville where I am now... I actually went to the city... very exciting for me, anyway, I was in the bar when the shot was blocked and I caught it
I said to some dudes that were all into thegame that it was an illegal block because the ball touched the backboard first, but I was just trying to make conversation, they looked at me like I didn't deserve my life... assholes
both series are tied at 1 a peice, it will be intersting from here

There's a photo at ESPN that shows pretty clearly that he blocked it just as it was leaving Reggie's hand. Check it out: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=240524011
It's practically still on Reggie's fingertips as it's being blocked. |
