i got free tickets to see them Friday night, so i went in with a certain amount of skepticism (the kind of skepticism only a free-ticket-holder can have)..

they won me over. great show. she has a great voice and puts on an interesting performance. they seem kind of pretentious at first, but i left with the impression that they truly have soul, as a band. for lack of a better description. it's nice to see bands truly enjoying playing their music (and it's nice to be drunk at a free concert)

not to mention that the lead singer is a babe. cute lead singer with short skirt doing high leg-kicks + beer = a good evening.

Yeah, Emily Haines is tasty. What did the play?

My favourites are IOU, Grow Up & Blow Away, Raw Sugar, and well, there are others...

Emily sings some songs for Broken Social Scene too, like Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl.

They were here and I missed them, was going to see them while I was in Florida but missed that too, so hopefully they're through here again next year.

i saw them play with snow patrol, broken social scene, and the polyphonic spree at sxsw. they put on a pretty good show. it was also neat when they joined bss on stage along with members of the stills and stars. i met their bass player the next day when he was standing next to me during the unicorns.

goddamn.

i saw them when they toured for Fantasies. i was a lil disappointed. i was expecting huge rocking distortion, but those rocking moments never hit as hard as i'd hoped.
