So... my girlfriend found me bleeding on the floor... why?
I decide to watc the DVD but to not break up w/her this is what I did. I went over a musci store and bought an extra dvd. Then, I asked my neighbor to tie me all up to a chair and to play the dvd for me. He didn't and left the apartment. He forgot to press play... litle piece of S$%^&^&* so, I had to fight myself to get off those ropes and to watch the DVD. I ended up hiting my head with a coffee table and bleeding all over the carpet.

When my girlfriend took me over the emergency room when she found me dieying on the floor. When she asked why I was such an asshole, I said that her ex-boyfriend -and now stalker- tied me and play the DVD so she will break up w/me. She thought I was the sweetest and bought me a tour t-shirt and a doughnut.

Anything for the pixies!

FYI,

If you are looking to buy the Pixies DVD and you are in Minneapolis then you could get it for 15.99 at Electric Fetus. You can always get a better deal locally if you know what you are doing. If you live in Minneapolis and don't know the Electric Fetus then you don't know what you are missing..probably one of the best music stores anywhere...best service bar none. I have watched all of DVD except for the videos. I received my 11/11 tickets in the mail today as well.

If someone would have asked me a week ago if I thought that this thread would eventually contain stories of tied up Columbians, stalker ex-boyfriends, and someone's naked son....I would have said they were nuts. This is the seventh sign of the apocolypse.

Somar,

Your son is so cute! I hope you have fun on his 2nd birthday. I think naked butt pictures are manditory for parents. It can serve as blackmail when the kid is a teenager.

Electric Fetus I must go... I have not really been buying any music lately becaue I have been trying to save up and avoid the temptation. Also, now that it isn't 20 below... I have no excuse seeing how I live so close.

***CONTEST**** OK... here's an idea... post your ideal Minny set lists here. I will create the mix on real rhapsody and put a link to it on my website.. that way you can listen at work, at home or wherever....I will take up to 2 per username... 1 for the 10th and one for the 11th...then we can vote on this and I will take the winner out for a beer or coffee your choice. Please limit setlists to 30 songs and 5 for the encore. The contest ends June 1st. Voting will last June 2nd to june 15th.

Categories that can win: Best overall setlist, best old school setlist, best well-rounded setlist, Most original setlist, Best set list theme (e.g. Alphabetical), all cover song set.

Best overall setlist gets a pitcher or cofee + dessert or the other winners just get a beer or a coffee.

Hopefully we can all meet up in June or July for an awards celebration.

Oh I just thought of another... the best recycled set list. Pick a setlist that the Pixies have played before and you want to hear on 11/10 or 11/11.

Thanks Daisy Girl,

Alex has been keeping me busy this weekend, the wife is in Chicago...now you know how bad I am at updating pictures...Alex turned 4 on December 21st...He often listens to my music in the car, however now he has his Might Be Giants CD that trumps everything else. One other thing about Electric Fetus that was cool was that Mike Elias who handles all the Internet orders saw the Pixies in their ealier days..he also had a picnic with them and their record lable reps..as well as sitting down with Frank for an hour for a drink a couple of years ago...now that was quite a story....when I rounded out my Pixies collection I picked up the Martini's Smitten CD and Mike through in a limited edition Smitten sessions CD that was signed by Joey and Linda for free!!..now that's service!

Wow Somar,

That is so cute about Alex and him following in your footsteps musically.

That is very cool about the Electric Fetus. I am going to put it on my to do list to check it out. I also need to check out Let it Be. I will have to bring my husband becasue he can help limit me to on CD it is always so hard not to get at least 4.

Daisy...It was nice seeing you and your hubby last weekend. Maybe we can get together again? I was a little drunky so...I hope I didn't make any more of an ass out of myself than usual. I DID have a great time, though. By the way, my girlfriend got hired there.

We should organize some sort of get together before the show. I know we have spoken on this matter before but I am too much of a slacker to actually organize such an event. My vote is for a bar in close proximity to the venue. Ideas? Opinions? Comments? Boobies?

Cool, I would be all for that. I am going to be in Minneapolis that weekend for a conference. I'm staying at the Hilton Minneapolis and I have my tickets for the 11/11 show. If you guys set something up, I will be there. However, it would be nice if someone could help me out with directions and transportation suggestions to and from the venue.

But I guess that can all wait until we're a little closer to the show date.

there are a bunch of great bars & resteraunts on 7th street, which is the other cross street, along with Kellogg, that Xcel Energy Center/Touchstone Energy Place is all a part of. they've changed a bit in the last few years, since the arena was built, but i can take a look next time and figure out what would be a good place. there's a really good irish pub right near there that would be good (Mcgovern's), also, the Limmey is right across from the Xcel, connected to the Holiday Inn.

Gunner, if you want, you can tag along with a buddy of mine and me. I think my girlfriend is dropping us off at the show so we only have to pay for a taxi one-way. Let me know if you want in.

Long live boobies!!

joshua,

Thanks for the offer. I will very likely take you up on it. It depends on what I do with my other 3 tickets. I have asked a couple of people if they want to go, but they're not sure yet. If they bail on me I may have some tickets. But again, I probably won't know until closer to the show date.

Regardless, I will keep the ride in mind.

Cheers,

By the by, an Irish pub sounds great. In fact, anything with the word "pub" in it sounds great. Apparently a "boobie pub" would please everyone...

Solace,

I see you were looking at the price of the newly released Smitten CD, the EP is a limited edition CD with some demos and exclusive tracks, also David Lovering is playing the drums on the smitten sessions ep. The full length album is:

8011000011742 MARTINIS CD - SMITTEN $12.59 $13.99

Tracks on ep:

You Are The One
Right Behind You
Right Behind You (demo)
Out Upon the Road
Out Upon the Road (demo)
Walls of Silence
Such a Fake (Exclusive track)
Skater Pink (Exclusive Instrumental Track from Joey Santiago)

The full lenght Smitten CD:

Flyer
Right Behind You
You Are The One
Out Upon the Road
Wishful Thinking
Walls of Silence
Invisible
Big Three Wheeler
People In The World
Into The Meadow

...and Let it Be is another very good independent shop..I have shopped there in the past. My recent purchase from Electric Fetus was my first purchase there...the service I got was far greater than my expectations.

actually, no, it was the EP that was signed and had a sticker of $13.99 when i was in their last week. i had to double check it, as i knew it was $7.99 at Let It Be. but it looks as though they've gotten it corrected, cool, i'll prolly swing by and pick one up this weekend :), that's a good price.

yeah the Fetus kicks all kinds of ass. i easily spend like 2 grand a year there, lol. luckily a friend of mine works there so it takes a lil bit of the sting off :)

how is the new Martinis full length, if you've heard it?
