Josh....
Anything for you and your friend who studied in Spain... i studied in Salamanca back in the day..
I can definately sell you two tickets at face value... I just can't let you know if I can sell you floor or balcony until I get the tickets via ticketmaster... if you are willing to wait and see that is totally cool.
Basically the situation is when I was ordering my mom also called in and she got some balconoy seats...she just doesn't remember the rows...if it's not near the front...i would rather be on the floor but if the balcony seats are good I will give you the the floor ones.
Since I heard it will take TM months to mail the tickets... which i don't understand what "convenience" i am getting for the convenience fee...i can let you know.
I also wanted to say if you want, you can use me as a backup if you want to look for floor only tickets. Let me know what you decide and other than two floor tickets going to Prozacrat... the other TBD ones will go to you!!!!! Just let me know if you find others and then I will pass them along other fb members.

Daisy, It will probably be a pain in the buttinsky, but I'm sure you (well, your mum) can call Tickmaster customer service and find out where your seats are. |

We may yet, I just have to warm Mike up to the idea. That said, the Victoria reviews are not encouraging, and I'm also happy to have my last memory of the Pixies being on stage in Saskatoon for a fantastic show (would you believe I still gush and smile about it?).
But it'd still be cool to see them far later in their tour and in Minny with you blokes.

I think regardless of how the later shows in the warm-up tour go (note: they will be better than people say Victoria was), the fall tour will be worth it because there is no way they will be sticking with the same setlists for 7 months. In other words, I'm counting on more Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde. |

That sounds good Daisy. I appreciate it. Salamanca is a killer town. I lived in Granada for 11 1/2 months but I traveled as much as possible and got to see alot of Spain. The Sala Arena in Madrid was the best show by far. It was their Dog in the Sand Tour and i got to chat with Scott after the show. My friend who wants the tickets is a slacker so I am sure I am going to have to deal with everything to get his tickets. I don't mind, though. I still owe him since he introduced me to Frank.

Can't believe they're adding a second show. To buy or not to buy...
By the way I guess I could start up pixiescountdown.com again, but it just wouldn't be the same. |

I'm not going to pass judgement on the Victoria show until I hear the disclive torrent. (btw, why isn't it posted yet???) Most of the complaints were of obvious things like "Frank didn't talk to the audience at all", "Joey just stood there" and "Kim goofed some lines." Uh, that happens at every Pixies show. Including the two fucking awesome shows I saw last week.
ANYWAY...
I saw the White Stripes at this place and it was better than I expected. We were in the balcony, and it still wasn't so bad.
Something to consider: So far everyone is saying Saskatoon was the best show. Anyone think that crowd size has anything to do with it? It was the biggest crowd, therefore most energy. If this is true, there is nothing to fear from coming to this venue which is about the same capaticy.
That having been said, MattB, Cult Of Frank and Speedy M (as well as all the other cool people we met from Canada), get your asses down here and see these shows!

porkbone,
I got my tickets for the Nov. 11 show, now I'm trying to figure out if I can do both....I probably won't know for sure until much closer to the actual date. Depends if I fly or drive.
Cheers

Hey Josh... thanks to The Man's advise... my mom called tm... you can have the floor seats... that means that I am selling two to you and two to Prozac Rat at face value + those bs tm fees.
Maybe I will meet you face 2 face...and we can swap Spain stories like Hemmingway...my favorite was the running of the bulls in Pamalona. I loved Spain especially Barcelona too :)
My seats are in section 208 row B... i was hoping for something first closer to the stage but betters can't be choosers... :)
This way we can rest our bones if we get floor seats for the 10/11 show!
Sounds like TM won't be delevering the actual tickets until November which I find odd... but we can work it out when they come.
Man as far as that second show goes...dreams really do come true!!!

I think crowd size is a part of it, but I also think it is the fact that we here in Saskatoon (and Saskatchewan in general) don't get shows like this very often so when we do, people are REALLY excited and into it. Add to this the fact that the show here was a catch-all for people unable to get to other shows and that we had visitors from across the continent (and indeed some overseas ones) who are obviously VERY hard-core fans, and I think that explains it a bit better. Plus, the band was in good spirits, tighter than any of the previous shows, and introduced THREE new songs into the rotation. I can't really explain it, but I have to imagine it was due to more than just a large crowd.
That said, if I can get Wednesday and Friday off work, maybe even Tuesday (to drive instead of fly), you could very well see us down there. Probably won't know until this summer, though.

Andres...let me know where your balc seats are. Mine are at 208 second row...so if yours are better, would you be interested in a trade and possibly selling the other set at face value here?? Thanks!
Also thanks for starting up that other thread...that is really going to help especially once the new tickets go on sale May 1st. I would like to hang out after the show but I am so old and my husband gets up at 6 am for work I don't know if I can make it. But do you think getting together before the show works too??? Maybe the pre show get together can be all ages and the aftershow can be 21+? Hopefully by then I will have a cool job that will let me take off a little early those nights. |

2o. Before the show? a beer before the pixies... what about a soda? only if u buy it...
3o. Daisy isn't old... don't believe her!
4o. I'm new in the city -actually new in the country- and haven't seen this venue yet... is this the famous Wilkins????
A guy just said on the radio that "The Pixies and The Passion of the Christ are the best marketing campaings in history so far..." 11/11, then 11/10... why 4AD and people involved love so much that game? The same was with death to the P...

while that is Roy Wilkins, it's the backside, you can't go in that entrance. the front side is all glass, and you have to walk through a few other rooms & hallways before you get to the entrance for Roy Wilkins
that is what RiverCentre (where Roy Wilkins is located in) looks like from the front entrance |

You go in the front door of RiverCentre and have to go down this long hallway, then around a corner sort of... it's wierd. And as far as the best place to park? Just across the street there is a 7-level parking garage for RiverCentre. It is right next to the Science Museum, as well. We parked there for the White Stripes show, took the elevator and crossed the street. Simple.

You know, it's funny how we (on this forum) have grown accustomed to shows selling out in 3 minutes. The show on the 11th sold out in what, a day and a half? With no advertising whatsoever. And remember this is for a show 7 months from now...
It used to be none of the shows I cared about sold out that fast. It was always the Paul McCartney, Paul Simon (anyone named paul, for that matter), Fleetwood Mac, those types of shows always sold out immediately. The shows I wanted to go see, you could get tickets the week of the show no problem. (Frank Black and the Catholics? Next week? Oh, I should get some tickets!) When I got tickets for the Winnipeg show, that was the first time I was ever stressed out about getting tickets.
My guess is that this show will not sell out for a while. Maybe the general admission tickets will sell out, but the reserved seating will still be available. Then again, with Coachella, the DVD, new CD release, lots of press... I could be surprised!

I second that, porkbone1. I sort of feel like I'm reliving my childhood, waiting in line for tickets to the "big shows". Of course with buying tickets online I guess I'm really waiting online and not in line. |
