i would only be jealous if my wife didn't share the drink with me.

but i wouldn't feel threateened at all....i know my wife is an attractive women, so it's naive to think that other men aren't going to be attracted to her, but pointless worrying about that fact because i trust her wholeheartedly.

but actually, it's more likely my wife would buy another women a drink...and i'm all for that!

If she took a drink from someone, I'd be more disappointed in her abusing/misleading the person than in a cheating sort of way, I think. Now if she went over and flirted with him, then we might be having a chat.

I like to put out the following disclaimer;

You do understand that my acceptance of said drink does not in any way confirm your spot in my boudoir this or any other evening.

Not many people still want to buy me a drink then...;)

if a girl accepts a drink you buy her, it doesn't necessarily mean she's obligated to sleep with you.

but kind of..

I'm not married, obviously...and I'd think my attitude would change after several years of marriage and I'd be a little more lax about it, but if I were married NOW, I'd first wonder why my wife is at a bar by herself...am I the only one who thinks that's a little eh? I mean, with friends, cool, yeah...business, sure! Alone at the bar? I dunno, maybe I'm overly paranoid. And yeah, I think accepting a drink is like saying "Sure, I'm interested." I say no way man...not unless it's a friend or someone you work with who knows you're married. I won't be going to bars and buying women drinks...that's the same thing.

Of course, floops, we are civilised people. When I offer a drink to a girl, I'm not only trying to fuck her, I may want to get to know her better, go to the cinema with her, tell her funny stories, kiss her in the neck, and then fuck her, which is completely different.

But on the other hand, if a girl accepts your drink just for the drink, then she really is a bitch.

So you see, there is no answer to this question.

I've been too jealous before too but there are still times when my attention is needed. And it isn't that I wouldn't trust my wife, it's that I don't trust a single guy in the world. Everyone always seems to think that jealousy means distrust but that's not it at all. My girlfriend would feel unloved without a certain amount of healthy jealousy. People just need not to be overbearing.

And dude, you say that every other female was urging her to call that guy. Who were these bitches? Were they her friends?

Agreed. I still show a reasonable amount of "proprietary" feelings every now and then... you can feel when it's expected from you :)
And even I expect my wife to be a little jealous sometimes!

I took the question lightly because, having been married almost eleven years, I know my wife does not flirt with guys. And she can defend herself if someone gets too interested.

Another thing is, we're pretty much always together. We always know where the other one is. I guess you could find this creepy or downright oppressive, but that's the way we are. So you see, there isn't much room for free drinks and stuff like that.

Hell no! Just people she works with.

But you'd trust women? Things have changed my friend. Women are just as likely to cheat nowadays as men. They are also just as likely to sleep with someone else's partner too.

Sadly, trust is a LOT harder to earn nowadays.

as it happens, we were all sat down on the floor of the indie room in 'rock world' last night, i was sat with a girl either side, my gf on one, a friend on the other... a bloke comes over and not too subtly asks my gf if she wants to dance... so she says no... and you may think that'd be the end of it, but oh no, did i not like that! lol! i think it went along the lines of something like "i don't think so mate, she's with me, why would she want to dance with an ugly fucker like you?" - now remember i was quite drunk and full of confidence... luckily he just walked away... so yeah, i'm mega insecure!

Simon? Two things mate!!!

Firstly, that was a bit out of order don't you think? I assume the guy had no idea you were with her. I don't know, the things we say when we're pissed .

Secondly, what the hell were you doing in Rock World!?!?!? It's utter toss!!! I can't believe I have actually been there twice!!!

haha! yeah, it was out of order, but i was just angry that he was asking my girlfriend to dance... if he'd paid more attention he may have spotted we were together... tricky one though, as we don't seem like we're a couple when out, none of this dancing together like couples, or kissing, or holding hands or anything... we just look like we're mates most of the time... no public displays of affection... yeah, so me in the wrong, me bad mike.

erm, well the indie room and the 'goth' rooms aren't too bad... and it was busy... and it was that, 5th ave or an obscure (and likely empty) club at retro bar...

Is the club below Retro bar any good? I know the bar itself is a bit dodgy, or was when we went in about a year ago anyway.

hmm, interesting replies.
Usually, when I accept a drink, id quickly move the conversation on to my cuirrent b/f at the time, stuff like that..

Re: going to the bar by my self, i dont do that, but when youre with a group of female friends, it happens, its better to keep male company, as the guys usually dont approach if youre with guys. most the time.

Very bizarre, very bizarre indeed. But yeah, I think the general consensus being that it is not appropriate to accept drinks when married.

I don't buy women drinks. I find it more difficult to sleep with them if I do. So by extension I would imagine if I was married I possibly would not mind my wife accepting a drink off of another guy.
