He recorded Cactus for his album Heathen a couple of years ago and even played it on the Today show. However, it was the last song he played, they only showed part of it, and the credits were rolling while he played it.

I really wish I had the cash to see Bowie. He plays Winnipeg exactly a week before The Pixies I believe.

Good version (But I prefer the fucking Pixies one). But it's alright, because Bowie loves the Pixies.

Hmm...not my point. Knowing how to spell and/or use spellcheck has nothing to do with knowing how to speak a language fluently.
No need for the hostility.

Well, "sow" technically is a word. Spell check would, therefore, not have worked. Or would it have? I am sorry if I missed something.

ok ! Here am i with my poor inglish once again ! i tryed to find the translation for " spell check " at my dictionary but i didin't got ! if it means something good " THANK'S " or if is bad for while i didin't got hurt ! Let me try to explain something about the music that goes beyond of the words and theyr meanings . i wroted above that i have been listened for all the stuffs of FRANK and PIXIES etc , about 16 years , and even though i wasen't understanding nothing that Frank is talking about , when i heard song's like " All Over The World " Motorway to Rosswell " Solid Gold " ... ... i got a feeling that's the matter for all of us ! And i confess that when i enroll myself to this forum , i never figure that i could find too many shits writed above how i have read from the Frank's funs ( some of then ) ! But for all of you that still believes in any sense , once in while we'll got together here ! Please ! I would like to know what means " SUBBACULTCHA " and what Frank wants to mean with " I'LL BOSSANOVA WITH YA " ( of HANG WIRE ) ? Thank's guys ! |

Cactus is good but it ain't no pixies. It was cool to hear him play All the Young Dudes.
Heh, I just about drilled this kid beside me though, when Bowie played Man Who Sold the World he goes, hey isn't that that Nirvana song. No joke, I almost lost it! |

It's predictable I guess...
All the Young Dudes really is something when you're in a show with 20,000 people singing the chorus :D:D

I would have lost it; I wouldn't have been able to control myself. How old did the kid look? It also makes me angry when people say "Nirvana's version sounds so much better." I guess it is just my opinion that Bowie's version is and always will be the best, but most people that say that probably haven't heard Bowie's version at all or just like once and that's why they say it.

Tin Machine, Bowie's late Eighties rock band, played a rather awful cover of 'Debaser'.

Way down down down in this subaculta! Artistic freedom used there. Sub culture Many people that were originally into the pixies in the late eighties, would have been part of a musical subculture. Goth's, punkers, etc. Then you had the clueless freaks that liked poison and winger. Now these morons are adults and running companies. Their kids love Britney and Christina. They scare me. Side Note: I think spell check is two words isn't it?

With "I'll Bossanova with you" Frank means to say, "I'll [perform the dance popularly known as the] Bossanova with you." Unfortunately that doesn't fit the meter of the song, hence the abbreviated lyric you've quoted.
Surely as a Brasilian you're familiar with the term in this sense? |

Bowie played in Kansas City last night and the fifth song into the show was Cactus. He did mention that it was a Pixies tune. Pretty cool.

I saw him Saturday and he played it. He said something like, "This is by one of our favorite bands, the Pixies." It was an incredible show by-the-way except that my seats sucked.
