i was young and impressionable, when i saw Murphy's Law at the Vortex Nightclub(now a print shop) in Hadley, Ma. the show got quite unruly. 5 days later i got my first tattoo, and i have been breaking things ever since. i have seen them a bunch of times, they never disappoint.

The New Misfits, years ago. It was actually a really good show, they were still a good band even if the new singer really couldn't keep up.

cracker supposedly had counting crows opening for them but the lead singer of counting crows had a sore throat so they didn't play.

this was when Mr.Jones was just getting some airplay.

cracker was/is a good band but counting crows obviously suck.

my 2nd concert was the best, though. tmbg w/frank black SOLO opening for them.

I've probably heard the Counting Crows song (I don't like them either, for what it's worth), but when I see someone mention "Mr. Jones," I think of the Talking Heads song.

When I think of Mr Jones, I think of Aqua. Which is quite horrible, clearly.

First proper rock show attended was Kiss w/ Rush opening, March '75. who would have thought those bands would still be around today?
Before that I can remember seeing Buddy Rich everytime he played Milwaukee's Summerfest (thanks to my dad), and bands that would play at the Auto show like Paul Revere and the Raiders, Free, and Tommy James and the Shondells, '60's acts that were on their last legs. Almost Spinal Tap-like now that I look back on it...

The first live band I can think of is my brothers old punk band...but the first 'established', band I ever saw was, I think, Carcass at a long-gone venue called McGonagles. They were touring their 'Necroticism-Descanting The Insalubrious' album. It was cool to meet some of the band before the show, they came out to mix with the crowd and did'nt act like 'Rock Stars'!

It was at the olympic stadium, but yes they came out with 3 hours of delay. From what i heard it was because there weren't enough people(about 10.000 tickets sold) so the organizators opened the gates and filled the stadium with gatecrushers in order to make the divas happy with a big crowd. What was worse than the delay was Brian May that opened for them. He sucked.
You are right though. It is strange that we went to the same show 12 years ago. The world is a small place after all.
