| silver. there are some i didn't like in the beggining, like... bone machine, but it grew on me once i gave it a chance, but i just don't really like silver. |

This thead is surprising me big time, Velouria,Is she weird, Havalina,Birds dream, the happening,navajo know!! Amazed anyone thinks these could be the pixies worst songs, as for the happening being a filler, that is ridiculous.It is epic. I can tolerate silver and Tony's theme being mentioned, but thats about it.
PS. U-turn, Tony's theme has some shit cool moments. "I'M LEARNIN"

Hello fellow Pixies dudes, newbie here. I've recently been a bit over-obsessed with Bowie and need a new outlet, a new project to focus on. Pixies can fill the slot for now.... expecially with a tour looming.... I just need to get them to Australia (for the first time ever) and life will be perfect!
Back to this thread.... I'm in the Silver camp. This song has driven me nuts for years. I can at least listen to it now though, unlike when I ALWAYS used to skip it. But it's still my least fave Pixies track.

Those are the weakest songs (musically and lyrically) they have ever put on an LP....just lame.
btw seems every is in agreement with Build High and Theme From Narc...which are novelty songs at the most.

| There Goes My Gun and Down to the Well get my vote--and if Blackie didn't sing the Perry Mason theme at the end Space(I Believe in) it might also be on my list. BTW I really like Tony's Theme. Why Trouser Press called it a B-52s parody I never understood, but it's a fun song. |

| Silver, Silver, Silver. It stops Doolittle being perfect. There are songs on Bossanova and TLM that are about the same quality, but there are more of them, so they don't stand out as much! |

Ps. i love tony's theme, and i love build high. and as for bossanova...theres not a single blip of of sound that souldnt be on that album. maybe the only songs im not so into are baily's walk and santo.

Seeing this post made me have to respond. Doesn't anyone think gigantic sucks? I can't stand that song. Mainly its just the chorus, or maybe its just because I dont like Kim's voice. I also don't care for broken face to much either, which I also didn't see on any posts.

"Worst" Pixies songs, I can go with. Maybe even "Doesn't do it for me". But's what the hell's all this "Hate", "Can't Stand", "Drives Me Nuts" crapola?!
I definitely have my share of songs that I'll skip through if I'm not in the mood. But C'mon now, none of them really SUCK, do they?
I used to have a bootleg called (I think it was something like) "Black Stool Sessions" or something like that. Before Frank sings Blown Away, he says something like, "I always got the feeling that nobody liked this song." But I -DO- like that song! It's probably just that all of you went and gave him a complex. ;-)

Don't really hate any of them. Silver's not bad, just different from the rest of Doolittle. I find some stuff on Bossanova is "skipable".

| personally, i wouldn't mind if i never heard "where is my mind" ever again... it was my fav. when i first got into them, and i can listen to most pixies songs a million times and not get sick of them, but for some reason i can't stand that song anymore. |

Oh my god, I can't even believe someone said Havalina and Dig For Fire were the worst songs, Maybe it's me but I can revel in post 80's early 90's pop alt rock(Bossanova!) Anyway, I have to be completely honest, from day one as a fan I have never been as fond of all the "hits" especially off Doolittle. I would not say worst songs ever but Monkey, Debaser, and Here Comes... Are all pretty lame for some reason to me, although I have always listened to and understood and appreciated them and enjoyed them for the fact that it is the Pixies. In particular Here COmes... is probably one of my least faves. NO 13 BABY is the fucking shit though!!! man it "rides" so smoooooth

I really hate the ones that skip like crazy all over Doolittle, I mean it's like someone put scratched the disc like to hell and covered it with finger prints.

I can't really sh*t on songs like BUILD HIGH and TONY'S THEME, or even THEME FROM NARC. There's too much of a sense of fun & trying out new stuff on even the least successful Pixies tunes that makes something like this an exercise in ill will.
That's why I get so steamed when people pile on Trompe Le Monde. Bob Mould once said there's more ideas in the first 8 min of that album than more bands have in their careers. |

Stormy Weather, for me, is one of the many highlights of Bossanova. Silver is a brilliant aberration in the evil guitar storm that is Doolittle. And Velouria is just pure genius. What the fuck is wrong with you all? Or is it me?
Anyhoo, my 2 cents' worth: Make Believe, b-side of Velouria 12". I know it's Lovering penned and sung, but it sounds like someone trying to be the Pixies and not quite getting it. |

All of you complaining about Dig For Fire...do you actually enjoy listening to music? It's fantastic and has to be the highlight of Bossanova!
As for the worst Pixies song it's got to be something like The Sad Punk or Space (I Believe In). Right? |

why do so many people dislike 'silver'? i didn't really like it when i first heard it but it's grown and grown on me, the harmonies are just gorgeous.
the same happened with crackity jones. apart from the being gorgeous bit.
and i can't believe someone said 'there goes my gun'; that song makes me smile so much :D |

tonys theme stood out the 1st time i saw them & seems archetypal to me.
but as debaser has been listed as the worst by someone on this thread i guess it just goes to show.
mate i went to last nights show with doesnt like monkey.
me - i dont have a least favourite - after the favourites the rest are sort of equal.
