I'm sick of this BS! Knowing my luck the first show will be in Toronto and I'll come up empty handed to my own home town show....

The Champ might know more about the Toronto rumor than any of us, but it sounds like he doesn't know a whole lot about it. |

Someone needs to get the FB.net fans hooked up with some advance knowledge of when the real first show is going to be! |

I guess it would be too much to ask for the Pixies to be a little more sentimental in their business decisions ... but not by much. Does kind of suck. Seriously, when I heard about this I was more annoyed than anything. And I even live in Minneapolis.
Many -- what about a secret code? I didn't realize there was one. But I guess I got mine on the phone. |

myself i don't really care about first show or not, i figured they'd play a show ahead of Winnipeg somewhere anyway, it's all gravy. Winnipeg is still the first SHOW, these others are all just warmups... (for the Warmup tour), hehe

I just mean the secret code that you have to read and enter online that I assume prevents people with software.
Maybe there will be a secret show in Boston after all. heh. |

What does Dave Noisy, Cult of Frank, or El Barto think of this? They're the insiders...I know that Cult of Frank was going to Winnipeg. Do you feel like you've been ripped off, or you don't care, or you've got tickets to the Mpls gig?

mattb, do you think it would take over a month for them to send the tickets? I doubt it would, so don't fret quite yet. |

Mattb, you know you've got to learn to trust people, or have people trust you. Just come up with a secret password and meet before the show. |

Granted I really don't know what mattb's post said, but I don't see any reason for anyone to choose will call for this (Minneapolis or Winnipeg ... I assume he meant Minneapolis though). And if you did, you can probably call Ticketmaster and have that changed.
A shipment from Minneapolis to Toronto should take five business days tops.
I probably am totally missing what Matt was talking about, but even if so hopefully this is useful to someone. |

Although, with that said, if you don't plan on giving any tickets to strangers will call is probably safest :) |

Not sure why he deleted his post but basically he bought 8 tickets and was worried that they wouldn't be mailed in time and that he'd have all these leftover tickets.
So I guess this show is sold out now... |

All this means is that they are going to be even crisper, and tighter for the Winnipeg show which will be played in front of a crowd packed with 1600 die hard pixies fans from all over North America. Sounds like the perfect pixies experience to me. |

I posted this in a Winnipeg thread and then realized it didn't belong there:
Wow, after all this talk from Winnipeg people telling people the ins and outs of their hometown, it's kind of cool to be talking about Minneapolis (granted no one is asking yet, but I'm guessing they probably will ).
I'm not sure how to describe the Fine Line, it's just your middle of the road between a smaller 300-capacity bar-type venue and something like Metro in Chicago. It's not my favorite in town, although one thing I can say for it is that it's definitely at least a clean place and visibility is pretty good. There's an upstairs balcony, they serve food ... it seems a little pretentious or somehow not completely genuine in a way, but there is nothing about that venue that will detract from the experience of seeing the Pixies.
So my fellow Minneapolitans should start listing possible meetup places ... Nye's wouldn't be too bad, it's just across the river and about a three minute drive from the venue...
Fine Line is downtown, by the way. |

Fine Line is only 300 person capacity, so this would be a kick ass small small small venue to see them! I am seriously thinking about road-tripping out for it! |

Fine Line updated their site and added the show:
"The Pixies play their first gig of a sold out reunion tour here! Tickets are sold out! There is no need to call..Tickets are sold out!"

Having been there, I would believe solace's quote of 720 capacity much more than 300. 300 would be TINY, and although Fine Line is kind of small, I would not call it tiny by any stretch. The balcony alone might fit 300 people.
To those familiar with Minneapolis, the 7th Street Entry lists itself as having a 250 capacity. I feel pretty confident in saying the Fine Line is quite a bit larger than the Entry. |

I'm sure Fine Line would like to believe they are first, and at this very point in time of course they are, but I wouldn't count on that sticking. |
