My favorite moment is in "All Over the World".
Is starts off 'slow and light', and then the distortion and crazy santiago guitar just fucking blast in from nowhere and jam - frank black says "everybody, rock out!". Thats my favorite moment. It may sound like a ridiculous question, but honestly, what is more important in life than rocking out?
Reason: it's the ultimate mutherfuckin cool line - its fucking clinical. He says it like a musical dictator whose mission is to teach everyone how to rock.
It's explosive - franks whispers a tease through the first few lines of the song, and then suddenly santiago belts out his chaotic musical sense through the guitar (and frank says passively "everybody, rock out" as an agreement/in support of santiago's expression). blah blah, blah... Its just the coolest part of all thier songs. -Eli |

you know that bit at the start of where is my mind, *strum* "stop" *boink*, well the *boink* is my favourite bit, basically as I know it is going into my favourite track, beautiful, sublime. Amazing.

Hey is a perfect song. Not the only one, but one of them. One of my five favorite songs of all time. My favorite Pixies moment is in Gouge Away right after Kim hammers in the chorus and everything goes "duh duh duh duh duh duh!" |

If you're on mushrooms, there is nothing more satisfying than that little *ting* bell-like sound after the first chorus on the slow version of Wave of Mutilation.
If you're not, I think the vocal delivery on Mr. Grieves is the greatest thing I've ever heard in my life. That's my funeral song, or my wedding song, whichever comes first.
Nothing is ever something. |

heh, . i think it's quite satisfying anyway, especially on the BBC version if you're in a hurry.

The 'COME ON PILGRIM, YOU KNOW HE LOVES YOU!' from the BBC version of levitate me, the 'mmyeah Ed is' from Ed is Dead, the final scream at the end of Manta Ray, the bassline and drum beat from I Bleed, that cool guitar riff that joey plays at the end of No 13 baby and the whole rhyming thing from 'The happening'.
For ten thousand years he slept, his mind feeding on the nightmares of the weak. Now he has awakened. As the night turned crimson, the fire-blade shattered and his power died. Then, the slaughter began... |

Subbacultcha´s second verse, especially the "she sakes and she moves me or something" part, with Joey doing something with his guitar. |

Opening to Dig For Fire. Greatest intro of all time bar none. The guitars playing off each other, the drums kicking in.... Classic!

Well, I'm gonna stick with "Witcha" for "with ya", and I think you'll find that lyric sites agree with me. Also, the great Andre 3000 has my back on this opinion, as exemplified in his refrain "hey, ya" which is undeniably his response to the question "what is black francis screaming in the bridge of Hang Wire?" |

I've got a few...
One...the name of the song escapes me, but frank says something like "I'm gonna sing a para--"...something something. Then it's like "HeeeeyHeeeyHeeeeyHeeHe's So HE'S SO!"...er, right, that one.
At the end of the subbacultcha, BBC Version, "GROPE, FOR, LUNAAA!"
Already mentioned, but the last verse of Gouge Away, especially on some live versions.
...and probably a few others, those are the first that come to mind.

some of my favorite guitar moments are: that two-note guitar part after the chorus in I've been tired. and the guitar part during the "chorus" of Ana. and the outro guitar thing on no. 13 baby. |

--i dont understand the Andre 3000 thing...someone explain it to me.
I agree with that part of hangwire being one of the greatest. but even more so, i love "THAT MAN IS A LIAR"
and also in down to the well when he says "What matter does it make" then the breathe he briefly takes after it.
also i love the line in blown away "thats the way things are.."
the are my most recent rewind-listen-rewind-listenagain-...etc..parts
bop. |

listening to monkey gone to heaven on the Live at the BBC CD. it is better than the Doolittle version. The bass and Frank's vocals are so crystal clear. its great to turn up real loud and just listen.
