I saw a limited edition copy of Death To The Pixies in a used record store today. It was about an inch thick, has a black cover with a white 'P' on the cover as well as the standard photo super-imposed on a rock picture in back......the place had priced it at 48$. Is this worth it? I have a copy of the CDs in the regular format but dont know if I should buy it for collection's sake.....is it really a collectable? |

it's pretty collectable. You normally pick it up for anything between £30-£50. A nice thing to have, with a nice booklet.

Really - I thought that was the standard release - it is a really nice package, if you are going to collect for the sake of collection, excellent artwork etc

they are really nice those black boxes.... pity you can't actually read anything written in the booklet.
but yeah, they're going for silly money on ebay lately.
related: there are 2 still sealed copies of the canadian 2cd jewelcase edition of DTTP in a record store in Clapham Junction, London. i saw them there the other day but can't justify buying them cause i've already got the black box and the vinyl sets. go buy.

The black boxes are the 4ad Euro release. Aren't the US versions released by 4ad/electra. Those lp sets are crazy now. I was able to pick up a copy for $40 just a few months ago and now they are going for $120. Insane. |

where abouts in clapham junction?
Ive got both the vinyl box set, the CD box set, (along with the promo crap like bags, matches, candle, beermat, sticker postcard and promo board(s)) I also used to have the "gold ticket" CD version, before i realised i had it, and after a friend (sorry, make that 'twat') nicked it.
The only thing i wish they did with CTTP was include the FULL concert........

Fuck, I did'nt even think there was a vinyl release. I've got the 2-CD, but I'd love to get that(especially if there's 2 extra tracks). Was Wave Of...released on vinyl? I've got all the albums(Doolittle+Bossanova with booklets)+European 12"s on vinyl, and 'Monkey' 7", nothing rare I guess. It would be great if they'd release 'Bam Thwok!' in some form(other than on-line!)

Carl check e-bay. The 10" version of DTTP is on there constantly and the price changes greatly from week to week. |

madness.
and i see the regular albums on vinyl are also going for silly money - £50 for doolittle - ya gotta be kidding me.

I got a candle for £8 about 3 years ago. bargain! Then my bro smashed it. I made him pay me £30 for emotional damage.
