A couple of people here mentioned some of my art had racist overtones. Do you feel the maltese cross or cross like West Coast Choppers uses is racist? I carved the ring below last week. One of my friends just asked me if it was a German cross. I think it's a maltese cross and has nothing to do with racism but I really am interested in how other people feel about it. Check it out and please let me know what you think.

I must admit the first thing I thought was Iron Cross, and the second thing was Oh wait, Maltese. I don´t think it´s rascist and can appreciate that the ring is beautifully rendered, but considering it is a symbol of an execution tool (Crassus had 6,000 slaves crucified and lined along the Appian Way after putting down the slave revolt) I think it´s of questionable taste - would you wear or make a ring with an electric chair on it? Just giving you my two centimos is all.

No, not racist. Even if it invokes the German cross, so what? In any case, militarily speaking, the German cross makes me think more of the WWI German forces than of the Hitler period. Good luck on the sale. |

THANKS for the input. It's really strange. I make crosses because they sell but every once in a while I get flack about them being racist. You can get West Coast Chopper shirts at K-Mart. I'm not a racist and don't like being associated with racism but butterflies don't sell! |

I think you should do whatever you want to do. I like pentagrams a lot, and I practice no religion whatsoever. McDonalds having a rock hard, earthworm veined boner for inner city blacks in their advertising....that may be racist, but not you're ring....That's really nice work by the way.

seems that rings with ss symbols sell too(like the ones on the tony creed site).i'll give you the benefit of the doubt on maltese crosses but not on clearly nazist symbols.you have every right to make money on morons that buy nazist crap but don't be so lame trying to justify yourself with cheap excuses.

Thanks Interloper. Most people carve in wax. I prefer carving in the metal. I only know one other guy that does this. ( bwl1usa.com ) Bill is a real company and my mentor in regard to the metal carving technique. Most of the real jewelers I know think we are retarded for doing it like this (more time and dangerous to the fingers) I tell them wax carving is for girls and real men carve the metal.
Andalusia. There's nothing for sale with an SS on it. I think your referring to a picture in the gallery section of a ring I made for a Hells Angel. As he paid a grand for it I would have carved swazis on a penis if that's what he'd ordered.
I'm trying to get a picture of a GIANT Star OF David I made for a 400 pound Jewish Biker. It has a gold death head in the middle of it with ruby eyes ($2500). It has "Jew From Hell" carved on it. He was going to get a HUGE cross but was afraid his Mom wouldn't like it.

Mad Dawg - I think you'll find mun chien's not French but a Greek living in Italy. Check out his biog. Doesn't really matter anyway. I think the international involvement on this forum adds to the appeal.
We all know the French eat snails, wear berets and hang garlic around their necks. Just like Americans only eat hamburgers and have never travelled across their statelines.
I myself wear a bowler hat to work and read the Financial Times every day, by golly.

Mad Dawg. You're being ironic now, aren't you?
Although I still don't think you're a racist - I figure that if you were, you wouldn't be concerned enough about being called one to write the post that started this thread - I can totally relate to Mun Chien's cautiousness.
Racist movements are still active in Europe, as they no doubt are all over the world, and way too often have we seen the old beast rear its ugly head under cover of art/innocuous politics/spirituality/free thinking/"revisionist" history/etc. Although, once again, I really don't think it was the case here.
What I wanted to say here was, please don't start with the "Oh but you're a snail eater" bullshit. I think you were joking, but this sort of thing can degenerate quickly, especially in a thread with such a heading.
Oh and by the way, it's not the snails. It's the garlic. The snails are just there to gross foreigners out, so they keep their greedy paws off our exclusive, delicious garlic & herbs sauce. That's how cunning we are.
Peace.

you keep avoiding the issue here.that is that your rings ARE full of nazi symbols.and to your question "Is This Cross Racist?" i will reply, yes it is.not because the nazis invented the maltese cross but because that particular symbol is now remembered as a nazi symbol and has lost it's original meaning(as the swastica did.it was a harmless indian symbol but noone considers it a symbol of the sun nowadays).furthermore you DO use the double s symbol(clearly nazist only related) in these items(and not only on one custom ring):
HUGE BIKER CROSS RING ONE PUNCH BIKER RING DESTINY MAN SCULL RING(1,2) CUSTOM G BRACELET ELITE CROSS RING
so either you are a racist neonazi or you prostitute your work to those who think that nazis are cool or both.
PS.i thought that the french were frog and not snail eaters.

I don't think the ring is racist.
Wasn't the Swastika originally a symbol for peace or such-like, before the Nazis adopted it???

HPM yes the swastika was a Buddhist symbol before Hitler stole it. The Maltese cross is the symbol of the federation of American Firefighters as well as the most patriotic group in America the VFW. (Veterans OF Foriegn Wars). Lots of the war heros returning fro Nam were wearing them too.
As we Americans beat the dog poop out of Hitler,I feel I now own any symbols they may have briefly used/stole. I always crack up that we saved the azzes of the helpless Mommies and Daddies of those that seem so offended and concerned by what others wear. I LOVE being an American.

Here's for the swastika : http://history1900s.about.com/library/holocaust/aa120699a.htm
Mad Dawg, before explaining us how the Maltese cross is the symbol of American veterans, you should perhaps go back to the history to see where it comes from (a HINT : look in a dictionnary what "maltese" stands for).
Btw, you still seem to think Mun Chien is French, I see. Otherwise, you should learn some history, especially about how Greece was liberated during the WW2.
I can anticipate your remark about myself being French. I will give you 2 answers.
The first is that my father's family comes from former Yougoslavia, which didn't wait for the Americans to defeat the Germans (my Grandfather was killed in a battle against the nazis in 1944), and my mother's family is partly Jewish, which makes me allergic to the SS initials on the otherwise ridiculously grotesque rings you make for those redneck bikers and other South Dakota nazi beermonsters.
The other is the fact that BECAUSE Europeans witnessed nazism on their own territory, it makes them sensitive to these symbols, which may seem harmless to you. I don't blame you for your lack of education : your parents were probably not wealthy enough to send you to a decent school - it's not your fault.
Once again, I am not reacting because of your use of the Maltese cross - just because of EVERYTHING else.
Don't repeat me your bullshit about looking myself in the mirror. I watch myself in the mirror just about all the time. I am actually a very handsome guy!
Have some wine, please, don't run away. |

Adnan, you and I have had our differences in the past but I can't believe (or maybe I can) that you are letting THIS GUY rile you up so much. He makes no jewlery, he does nothing but come here to taunt people into posts just like yours. I can't believe so many of you are responding to him.
He is playing you and all the rest of you who respond to him like a record.
Laugh it off, but most importantly, quit responding. I have seen people WORTH getting into "arguments" over ( I have also seen them unceremoniously dumped). This person is not even worth this discussion of him not being worth anything.
Go and look at your handsome self in the mirror some more and ignore this guy. That's what he hates the most.

I just want to say that, having entirely skipped the "Insane silver skulls" thread (now who would want to read about THAT), I wasn't aware of Mr. Mad Dawg's spam campaign. That would have changed my outlook on his new post. (Yeah, I'm naive like that. It's my curse.)
I'm sorry Mad Dawg (well, not really), but you sound like that guy in Catch-22 who "looked to Yossarian like one of these people hanging around modern museums with both eyes together on one side of a face. It was an illusion, of course, generated by [the guy]'s predilection for staring fixedly at one side of a question and never seeing the other side at all."
I'm referring to your replies to Adnan. If you really can't understand his reasons for being pissed off at your crosses and paraphernalia, or worse if you've deliberately chosen to laugh them off... Well, if you ever come to Europe I suggest you keep your mouth tightly shut. And don't even try to sell clunky jewellery here, it's a Senegalese monopoly.
Oh and your links don't work.

Jedi, the hairy women thing wasn't a joke. It was AWFUL!!! The French fight worse than the British cook but I don't know any "Losing Wars" jokes. I thought this one was kind of witty. Why do the French call their fighter jet the Mirage? Because it's never been seen in battle.
About people in other parts of the world's distain for Americans? They are jealous as well they should be. It only took us a couple of hundred years to surpass centuries of our European cousin's accomplishments. Heck we were barely a country when we ran the the BRits off and the French up to Canada. (And thank God we did. Can you imagine if Quebec was in California!).
Even the few ideas worth having (Cars, Airplanes, Electricity, Phones, Fake Boobs, etc) we didn't come up with, we become better at in no time. (Take Punk Rock for example.)

Who said anything about disdain? I'm all for Americans. (That's including the US.) I even smiled at your jokes.
Just kick that intolerant halfwit out of the White House in November, and we (US and France) can be best pals again! How's that?
I can imagine if Quebec was in California: Ahnuld would be shooting T4 right now, instead of interfering in other people's private business in the name of some retarded bigotry. You're right Mad Dawg, what California is massive Canadian immigration! Clever you.

Racial Greetings White Brothers and Sisters! The American Nazi Party is a Political-Educational Association, dedicated to the 14 WORDS. We are committed to bringing American National Socialism, first created and embodied by our late Commander George Lincoln Rockwell, out of the past Phase One activities which at the time served their purpose well, and into the 21st Century.
Although National Socialism encompasses many various issues of concern to Aryan Americans, including a healthy environment, children's welfare, and freedom of belief without fear of System persecution...the two main tenants of National Socialism embodies the Struggle for Aryan Racial survival, and Social Justice for White Working Class people throughout our land.
As Aryan Revolutionaries, we recognize the fact that behaving in the manner of past activities, little progress has been achieved for our Cause. That is why we have taken a new direction. In the American Nazi Party, you will find no uniforms or ranks, we do not engage in publicly exposing our Comrades to undo publicity through pointless and dangerous Rallies or Marches. We instead stress Small Cell, and Individual Activism as the path for which to build our Movement, as securely and in a responsible manner as possible.
We are looking for Men and Women, who are willing to sacrifice for the Good of the Folk, not people who are looking for aggrandizement, titillation, or simply causing undirected and useless mayhem. This is not a game or a gang.
It is a very serious Struggle that we are involved in for the very existence of our White Nation of people. Those who are simply intent on pranks or causing trouble should perhaps look elsewhere for stimulation.
If you are interested in learning more about the American Nazi Party, we suggest writing to our National Headquarters and requesting an Info Pack.
Please enclose a $5 donation to cover costs. This information will be relayed to you as quickly as possible.
Each of us must decide just how far we will let the situation in America deteriorate, before we decide to take action to correct it. If you have had enough, and are willing to join the ranks of your ancestors who forged this land from a wilderness teeming with savages, and to keep it from returning to that state, we urge you to become involved. For your children's sake, if not for your own. for White WORKER Power!

Cultures all over the world have used the swastika, just the Nazis seem to be into reverse symbolism and turned it around. I saw a group picture of a Canadian women´s hockey team taken in 1916 and their strips had big swastikas on them. Also, I was working in a coffee shop about 5 yrs ago and a customer walked in with a handknitted jumper brodered with them.
