Oh, Tigana, Tigana...if you were to go and read my archived posts you will see that I was one of the few members of this site to actually DEFEND the fact the PIXIES were reuniting. I could care less how much tickets cost, where they play, or why they play. In fact, I'm going to see them twice! Yippee! If I had the time and means, I'd travel the whole freakin' world and follow their tour. This is something I've looked forward to since I was a teenager and DOOLITTLE hit the stores. I've never seen them! And this reunion I believe is a blessing TO US ALL. I have followed Frank around California many times seeing him solo, and have seen Kim and Kelley a number of times. Now that they're together, I practically pee my pants every morning knowing April and May are a day closer.
This thread has nothing to do with being narrow. I don't care what they play! It's just a spin on the normal 'songs you dont like' threads that pop up now and again. Of course if the PIXIES play ANY of the songs I would rather not hear, you won't see me walk out! Nor would any of the other people posting their dislikes. Come on!

YOU are very narrowminded, actually (I wanted to say something much harsher, but I guess our moderators wouldn't be happy with it).
God knows I don't always agree with Transmarine, but your fascist post is vulgar, insulting and pointless. It takes a minimum of critical thinking that after a thread "which songs they should play", there can pe a thread "which songs they shouldn't play", which is a more interesting question. Obviously, it's not only critical thinking that Mother Nature forgot to give you. If you think a thread is not interesting, then ignore it, instead of attacking the author.
I could try to convince you about how wrong you are, but I think it would be a vain effort. There is only one thing I'm glad about, it's that in a week or so we won't be hearing from you anymore on this forum.

Adnan, I must thank you for your defense of my intention. I'm not looking for negativity in this thread, nor does anything negative drive my topic. As you recognized, and as I've stated before, it's just a twist on favorites and non-favorites. Some people tend to think I must be the WORST Tartuffe ever! The one thing I've learned that I can't control what people are gonna post...not that I thought I COULD, I just felt maybe people could follow a structure I attempted to create. Oh well...it's all good! If people wanna explain themselves, thats fine with me. I guess this is just a small futility, and when people are passionate, simplicity goes out the window. So explain away! If you don't wanna hear a certain Pixies song, feel free to go into detail...and for those of you that DO wanna hear certain PIXIES songs, you have my blessing  ! But again, I just want to restate that I meerly was interested in hearing what people didnt awnt ot hear. That's all. No harm intended. And to those like Tigana, GO TO YOUR ROOM!!!!

I can't imagine that some of you guys wouldn't be excited if you heard the Pixies play Where is My Mind. Sure the song is "played," but the Pixies surely haven't played it in 12 years, so hearing them play it now seems like it would be neat.

I wouldn't mind them skipping Where Is My Mind?, though that would be highly unlikely because all the Pixies bandwagon-jumpers are probably going to be dying to hear it. And, of course, it's no secret that this tour is primarily about the money...

I saw the Pixies twelve years ago yesterday and Sad Punk was their second song that night. It did, in fact, rule--sounding way cooler than it does on Trompe Le Monde. Real raw. |
