Okay, this may seem like a strange thread, but I'm interested in hearing what songs you would NOT like to hear the P I X I E S to perform on tour? And PUHLEEZE don't bash each other for songs chosen! I will start with two selections I could do without:
Dig For Fire
Stormy Weather
Catchin' blue in his eyes that were brown

i've grown to like stormy weather actually, it's really grown on me... as has olympus mons and navajo know and havalina...
i'm not fussed about hearing tony's theme, gigantic or wave of mutilation... that's all i can think of right now.

There's no particular song I think they should leave out of their setlists, but I think they should try to do at least a slightly different set for every show. It's no big deal if they don't, but it's always nice when there's a surprise thrown in.

Agreed on Dig for fire.. but not Monkey Gone to Heaven.. that one would be good for later in the set. |

Hmm...Dig for Fire and Gigantic...
I think it would be amazing if they learned Space (I Believe In...) again. I'd love to hear that song live, especially since they never played it live before. Planet of Sound is fucking amazing live, too.

Here is what I WANT them to play: Dig for Fire, Rock Music, Cecila Ann, Alec Eiffel, Mr. Grieves, Veloria, Alison, Is She Wierd, All Over the World, The Happening, Down to the Well, Hangwire, Holiday Song, Broken Face, Wave of Mutilation, Something Against You, Bone Machine, Break my Body, Nimrods Son, I've Been Tired, Here Comes Your Man and There Goes my Gun. I know that will never happen though...i wish they would play ALL. And then play some new songs they made!!! THAT WOULD BE SWEETER THAN DARK CHOCHOLATE COVERED IN CHOCHOLATE CHIPS!!!

Black did a couple ofsolo shows in London years ago, I've got a bootleg of one where he's playing Levitate Me, and even though there's a few people singing along he get's bored and goes "Fuck that song, man!" To rapturous cheering!

this thread is really stupid. the pixies reform after a decade and some idiot starts talking of songs they "shouldnt" play. wtffffff i dont understand your mentality. its such a stupid thing to say. very narrow.
mr "transmarine" its not about the songs they play,the venues,or the ticket touts, if you can just think beyond that you will realise that this is an experience that i for one will be telling my children about when they start twinkling on thier guitars.where is your passion you clit. |
