Hi again guys/gals,
I would absolutely love to get 4 tickets to the Davis show. At this point, it's the only show that I know I can definitely schedule to see.
Can we start a sign-up list for a ticket-sharing program among people on this forum? The idea seemed to work really well for some of the canadian shows. We'll all try to buy the maximum number of tickets for the show and share our extras with listmembers at face value? If I can get the maximum 6 tickets, I'll sell my 2 extras to forum members at cost. What do you say?
lemme know what you think...I wouldn't mind organizing and keeping an updated list of people who are up for it.
Let's screw the scalpers.

Count me in also. I'll try to get the max 6 tix but will need to keep at least 2 to myself (ideally 3 tix). Tried to help out my friends and fellow fans in Vancouver but was unlucky. I'm looking to make up for it with the Davis show. |

So far I've failed to get tickets for any shows. I finally caved and bought some from a scalper on eBay to the Spokane show, but I'd totally prefer the Davis show (then could sell the Spokane tickets here to others looking for them).
So I'm DEFINATELY going to try to get them tickets 10am Monday morning (ugh!) and I'd love to be on some sort of waiting list if my bad luck holds out and I again fail to score.
And of course, I'll buy max and share any extras w/ you faithful fans. Looking for 3 tickets, ideally. |

I would like two tickets to the Davis show. After today's adventure with the Eugene tickets I'm not going to get screwed again. If I get through, I'll buy six and distribute them here as well at cost, not at inflated eBay scalping prices. Appreciate it if others do the same.
Thanks guys. |

I plan to be a buyer, but I'd like to be on the list for 2 just in case. I didn't luck out with anything today. LIkewise, I plan to buy what I can and submit to others on this list.

I really want two (2) tickets to davis. Count me in! If I get more, you all are the first to get them. I got extra Winnepeg tickets, and garaunteed the extras are going to FB.net people. I just have to wait until my situation is definite and worked out.
Whoever can sell me davis tickets has a FREE ride from the San Fran area, round trip, for appreciation.

just a quick thought: when it comes to the ticket sharing, does anyone else feel uncomfortable buying a couple for themselves and then unloading the rest onto just one other person? I think lone durango has a great idea here, but I'm feeling like this should be covering the fb member and maybe their date just in case things don't work out for them. I know if I bought six tickets, there would be at least four that people I know would die to have, but I'd rather hold the extras for fb members that are looking out for me as well. Assuming I get all 6 tickets alloted, I'd feel most comfortable delivering in two's, that way not just one but two board members and their dates get a chance to go. Ideally, it might be in order of desire, then order of first come first serve. For example, if I got six tickets, I'd keep two for myself, and distribute one to Erebus first because they only asked for one, then two to kottke because they're the first on the list to ask for two, and then one more up for grabs since there are no more one's on the list (like if elevator lady could accept just the one, it would be hers). What are your other viewpoints on this?

Hey Bill,
I was just thinking about the same thing today: What would be the fairest way to distribute tickets if we're lucky enough to have some to share?
Hopefully, we will have enough to cover everyone on this list. As of right now, if only 6 our of 13 us can purchase 6 tickets each, we are going to have left over tickets!!! (That's what I'm really hoping for).
I agree with you in that, obviously if I purchased 6 tickets, I know people who would love to have my 2 extras...but the whole reason I started this list was to hedge my bets. If I don't get tickets, I'll need someone on the fb list to help me out, and vice versa. The only way this thing is going to work is if everyone is decent enough to really help each other out...it's all about karma.
As for how to distribute tickets if we don't have enough for everyone? I'm not really sure just yet. Of course I would love it to be first come first serve, cuz I started the list. But I do NOT think that is necessarily the fairest way. Everyone on this list is "contributing" as much as the next person, no matter when they signed up. Maybe a lottery? I was thinking maybe we could see how many leftover tickets we have, put them in a pool, and then have a mini-lottery for the folks on this list, giving away one ticket at a time. If cannot use just one ticket, they can sit out of the first round of distribution, and then be first on the list for a second round of distribution for 2 tickets. That way, everyone would have an equal shot of getting at least one ticket. What do you think? Obviously I have way too much time on my hands to think about this stuff. If that sounds fair, and people agree, I would be willing to run the lottery.
Basically, I think we should all wait till after the tickets go on sale and see how many tickets we can buy as a group and hope for the best!
Thoughts?
ld, jr.

I'd like 2 tickets, and will definitely be out at the ticketmaster as soon as I hear that they are on sale! I'll buy as many as I can. I agree that a lottery is the way to go. |

I've been wondering about how this works with trades--if at all. I really want to go to the Davis show!! Therefore, I really want to get in on this ticket sharing to make sure I will end up with tickets. I need 4 tickets. If I get the 6, that leaves me 2 extras. However, I want to try to trade those 2 for 2 Eugene tickets first--thinking Davis tickets will draw Eugene tickets better than other shows. Now, as I see it, this ticket sharing is for only those that can promise to outright sell, not trade, their tickets to those without. So I have not put my name up here.
However, there's the possibility since I'll have four people, including myself, trying to get tickets there will be other spares to just sell here, at face value of course. I could possibly have as many as 20 extras! So, I'm in a conundrum about whether I can throw my name in the pot.
Would anyone object if I say any spares after the first 2 will go here? If I don't trade those first two, of course they will be put in the pot here.
formeremployee: I see what you're saying and have thought about that myself. However, I'm in a situation with the Davis show that I'd like to get tickets for the people helping me get tickets when they go onsale, especially the one who me and my husband will be staying with in SF. I basically wouldn't be thinking of going to the show if it wasn't that I had that place to stay. It could very well turn out that the only way I'd have spare tickets to share is that one of these friends got them.
While I see the point that "spreading" the tickets around is perhaps fairer, I don't think it's that simple. I like what they are doing over at the Winnipeg forum. As I understand it, they are first trying to match up people in the same area who had their names on the list before tickets went on sale so they can actually meet to exchange money/tickets, if security is a concern for the people involved. Anything left goes into a lottery for everyone that asked for tickets before they went on sale. If any are left after that they will have a lottery for those that asked after the tickets went on sale. Not sure if each pull in the lottery gets 1 or 2 tickets, or if each person drawn in the lottery gets all the tickets they asked for.
I agree with lone_durango that we should wait until after we see how everyone fares with the ticket sales to figure out exactly how things will be done. |

I'm in for the ticket share. I will donate a pair (2) if I get 6.
I only need a pair myself, but if my buddy and his wife can't get tickets and I can, I'll be helping them out, so that's 4 of my 6. |

I'll do my best to get 6 tickys. I may only need 3, no more than 4.
What if we all limit our request for the 'leftover' tickets to 2 (or less)?
That way, more FBnet members would get to go - maybe everyone! Who could complain about not getting more than a pair of tickets to see this show?
Then those of us who really need more than two can take it from there - even if you had to pay for 1 scalper ticket, you'd be getting three tickets for $180 or whatever. I'd be real happy with that. But hopefully we can all avoid the scalp.
Especially if we keep it to two ticks per FB member.
As far as priority, this may be lame but what about those of us who have been here at FBnet for more than a week or two get a crack before the guy who just joined cause he just heard about the reunion? Hopefully this won't be an issue...
Especially if we keep it to two ticks per FB member.
Good Luck to All!
Oh yeah - put me down for 2 TICKETS

I would say that qualifies you for 12 free tickets to Amsterdam, airfare included for a private party at the Melkveg. featuring Our Heroes.

Hey there. I live in Spokane and I'm interested in getting as many Spokane tickets as possible for all of my friends here who missed out when they went on sale (especially my sister who is a bigger Pixies fan than I am). I too missed out initially, but I got one off Ebay for 90 bucks. Anyway, I am going to try to get the maximum number of 6 tickets for the Davis show, and would like to trade them for Spokane tickets (assuming I can get any Davis tickets). Anyone out there in the position/willing to do that? If I get the tickets, and can't find enough Spokane tickets to trade for, I'll sell the rest for cost. I know I'm a newbie to this forum and all, but I just don't really do the whole forum thing very often; plus I'm pretty unknowledgable about this sort of stuff, I only found my way here due to my frantic search for tickets. And to prove that I'm a good guy, I might be able and willing to offer my apartment to one or two people to stay at if you're coming here for the show from out of town.
(by the way, tickets for the davis show can be purchased online at http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=TDC&pid=5304509 on march 1st at 10am) |

i'm buying two, i'd be happy to pick up 2 extras, maybe four, (so put me down for 2 definately), the only thing that would change my mind about sharing all 4 is if i'm able to exchange 2 for a vancouver show. did that make sense? talk about your run-on sentences...

By the way, I just checked out the website for the venue in Davis, at http://freebornhall.ucdavis.edu/. This place only seats about 1,300! Great place to see the band, but getting tix is going to be insane. |

I'd like to join you guys. I have a place to stay in Davis and if I can only get tickets I will come out there (I'm in NYC and Davis is the cheapest plane ticket to a Pixies concert!) So count me in as I try to buy tickets on line.
thanks! Matthew

hey guys/gals,
wow...this list is starting to grow. hopefully some of us should be able to score 6 tix/each, cuz if we do, it looks like we'll be able to cover alot of us.
astrocat: if you can potentially bring in 20 extra tix, you're definitely in on my list!!
echo park/HashWax: I registered december '03, am I worthy of tickets?
Also, there still seems to be debate about whether a lottery vs. first come first serve vs. how long you've been a fb member is the best way to decide who get tickets.
I think whether or not you're a newbie should NOT matter. Again, they are contributing to your chances of getting a ticket as much as anybody else. Although I do think we should close this list the night before tickets go on sale. As for lottery vs. first come first serve, let's just wait till after tickets go on sale to see if we have to worry about that. I'm ever the optimist and hoping we won't have to deny anyone the number of tickets that they want.
Another thing, I think that distributing tickets based on location and proximity to other people on the list is a bad idea. I live out in the boonies, and I know there isn't another pixies fan within light years of me. I vote NO on that idea.
oh yeah, and should "sorrygoodfires" be on the list? if he gets tix to the show, he's gonna try to trade them. I dunno about that...your thoughts??
look forward to seeing ALL of you at the show!!!
