One thing bugs me about the Pixies reunion --- it's that MTV actually cares about it. Where were they 15 yrs. ago when I was rockin' to them? What, did MTV play the "Here Comes Your Man" video one time ever at 3 a.m.? My god, an entire corporation misses out on the Pixies the first time through, and now it's like they were fans of them all along.

They have played U-mass videos on MTV during Trompe Le Monde. They continue to play it on M2. Member...they are playing an empty stadium in the video? MTV blows.

Not a big MTV watcher, but on what show did they announce it? It's not like MTV news is a real program, or is it?

MTV.com is all over it. I realize there was no MTV.com 15 yrs. ago...but still. You know if the Pixies actually put out a new album, the first single would get a lot of airplay.

MTV.com is just reporting what every other online news organization is reporting.

Tell me they are on TRL and then you have reason to complain.

Let me re-phrase that since no one on here does anything that is mainstream. Not even by accident.

Whenever some newbie to the Pixies sees them on MTV's TRL please report it here so we can complain. You will know to report it here because you are reading this right now. None of us elitist will know about it to report it. We thank you in advance.

Well, since we know what TRL even is, we must have watched it at some point...it's just that we regret it.

We're all family here...a Pixies/FB fan is a Pixies/FB fan, no matter how you find out about it.

Okay this isn't about the Pixies but I feel the same way about
Jane's Addiction when Strays came out. All the radio stations are playing it and its like this is the Jane's you choose to play?!?

I don't watch because I have 3 & 4 year olds who would rather watch rolie polie or blues clues. I skim through the music channels rather than watch them. I'm a TechTV fan. geek alert.

Modest Mouse on Carson Daly

Yes they are called interestingly enough Steve Burns.

I showed my son his picture and he didn't know who it was. Steve gets a thumbs up from me.

It was indeed Alison.

Thomas: Hahahahaha. He's wearing the same nerdy hat and all. I'm really liking that song they played on Carson, as well as the single "Float On". New album "Good News For Peopls Who Like Bad News" is out first week of April. Can't wait.

Thanks for pointing out the rather obvious fact that Mtv sucks. But to be fair: I probably wouldn't have discovered the Pixies without Mtv. In the late 80's "Postmodern Mtv" and "120 Minutes" often played videos from Doolittle, and when Bossanova came out they gave decent airtime to the Dig for Fire and Allison videos. At the time I lived in the middle of nowhere, had no decent radio station and was too far away to pick one up from other locations. Those shows were a hell of a lot better than nothing.

They've forgotten about non-pop in the last few years...perhaps this 'Pixiemania' could cause a massive cultural turnaround-maybe this time the Pixies will do what Nirvana did when they usurped the Pixies in the early '90s! Or maybe not....

CARL.

I've joined, but hav'nt sent any $(boo!)
