Heh ... I actually don't do that either, but I figured people would identify. For me that knowing glance and a nod is good enough :) |

Tell me more about this...knowing glance. I'm fascinated. Generally, I've gone with more of a fist pump, and a shared "Yeah!" But...this glance...I have to know more about it. |

Is anyone else almost pissing themselves with excitement about the tickets going on sale? I haven't been able to concetrate on work all week knowing that the tickets are going on sale soon. All day I keep checking ticketmaster to see if they fucked up and started selling early and checking the board for any new news. The next two days are going to be the longest of my life. I'm getting so paranoid too about over sleeping and missing out.

That makes two of us. I woke up in a cold sweat last night after dreaming I had overslept on Saturday morning. Damned fake Saturday. |

Yes, I too share your pissing-excitement. Although, mine is more of an anxiety about not having tickets in my possession. I'm losing sleep over this, so it's good they go on sale soon. I'm not paranoid about oversleeping, but I am paranoid about my internet connection. |

High fives are appropriate at a sporting event, unless you are not wearing a shirt. These are the rules passed down by our forefathers.... |

Well, see now, there are cool high fives, and uncool high fives. Some high fives may be referred to as "low" fives, which are pretty cool. Some are on the side, some are in fact up high. Actually, they're all cool now that I think about it. You just have to pull it off right. |

My rationale is that, even if I just joined the forum, I'll be trying just as hard as anyone else to get tickets, and that includes extras for the other participants. We're all agreeing to try to get extra tickets and if we succeed, to sell them here at cost instead of peddling elsewhere for hundreds, and by doing that, we make it more likely that everyone can get a ticket. I don't know if you agree, but I think that counts for more than tenure on the board. I'm sure that some people who have been here for ages will benefit from tickets donated (at cost) by newbies, so it's fair to give us a shot at getting tickets if we get shut out Saturday morning. Just wanted to throw my two cents in, but any extras I get will be available here at cost no matter what you decide. Good luck everyone! I can't believe it's this weekend... - Faye

I am so exciting that tickets are going on sale soon but I am worried that I wont get any. In the Winnipeg Sun today they talked with the ticketmaster 'guy' and he expects the show to sell out in under 10mins but they have the capacity to sell all the tickets in a minute and a half.
As someone mentioned before, there are no bad seats in the walker and the sound is awesome everywhere, its really a great place for shows dispite the seats.
btw, I need 3 (maybe 4) tickets to the show.

re: being excited about ticket sales, and pissing one-self.
I, also, am excited enough that urinating on my own person is no longer an activity that I am ashamed of. I hope that none of you fuckers get a ticket until I get mine (after which, feel free to get as many as you like), and I can't wait until I get to drink, smoke, cheer, and party with you mofos. See you shortly.
Now, please excuse me while I hit r3fresh. |

Just don't hit refresh too fast! Check this out (from Ticketmaster.ca website):
Access to our ticketing system is currently limited. Please try again at a later time This error is caused when you access, reload, or "refresh" transactional event or ticketing pages, or make other requests to the transactional servers too quickly, as prohibited in our Terms of Use. In order to provide fair access to all users, we limit this access to one request per any three-second interval. Please wait 5 minutes and try your request again.

With regards to the venue itself, are the seats sloped at all? Most theaters I have been in the seats slope downward at an angle. My wife is vertically-challenged and is concerned she will not be able to see very well. |

HAHAHA nice one. 5 minutes.. don't think so. Ah well. This build-up for saturday is.. it's like Christmas when you were younger and knew something big was on the way.
it's strange to see tickets for sale for "The Pixies" on ticketmaster. still not sure if i'm dreaming. i guess that's what it says. |

Fuck, I can't believe they do that! I just kept hitting refresh over and over on another concert and they blocked me.

i am planning on having some of my friends try and get 4x tix, in addition to myself. the most we should need is 4 or 5, so hopefully at least one of us will get them. should there be any extras, they will be made available here. if we can't get any, i need at least 1 (but preferrably 2) ticket(s).
and now i'm living in the cold but i'm looking for the sign |

Okay, myself and 3 friends are each trying to get 4 tickets, and we'll only need 3 altogether.
So if we dont get any, i'll *need* only 1 (myself), or up to 3 if I can get them (wishful thinking)

I have another idea to make this fair and avoid giving tickets to people who are jsut using this to get tickets easily and not doing any actual work themselves. If within half an hour after tickets go on sale anyone doesn't post how it went for them then they are disqualified from the draw. Now I know it sounds evil but let's say we do have people who signed up on the list and are sitting back relaxing and not even bothering trying to get tickets then stroll in Saturday Night or even later and say "hey, can I get some tickets?" I think it's only fair. I know for sure that the first place I'll be hitting after trying to get tickets is here and frankly if everyone else's priorities aren't the same they don't give a fuck about anyone else on this board having tickets.

I need 3 tickets, I see my name but no number beside it. If 4 is available i'll take 4 but I would settle for 3. Although if 2 is all i can get then I'd be happy with that too...

I don't want to alarm anyone, but ticketmaster.ca no longer has the Winnipeg show listed.
I was on the site around 4 pm PST, setting up my account and getting things ready for tomorrow. The Winnipeg show was listed at that time and I saved a link to it then. At around 4:20 pm I tested the link I'd saved for the show and it now says, "Venue Info is not available." The Vancouver show links I saved still work fine. I searched for Pixies from the ticketmaster.ca homepage and the Winnipeg show is no longer listed. I called my husband and got him to confirm this from his computer at work. I've checked several times since and it's still not there.
Anyone know what is going on? |

That is beyond interesting. I guess we have to wait for tomorrow to see how it shakes out (although it will be a tough wait).
One theory is that they're doing housecleaning. There used to be two results on a search for "Pixies" ... one was "Pixies," the other was "The Pixies." The "Pixies" one is the only one that shows, and I know that Winnipeg (and also Calgary which sold today) were under "The Pixies." Maybe a consolidation is in progress? |
