Did you guys notice that ticketmaster has the Winnipeg show at a limit of 4 tickets and everywhere else is 8. That's great news, hopefully all of us will be able to get tickets then and they might not go as fast.
This is weird too. ticketmaster is listing the selling time as 8:00 Pacific Time. What the fuck is going on? We have 3 different times now. |

The only times I've seen for Winnipeg have been 9:30am and 10:00am central. What other time have you seen? |

25 The Big Easy, Boise, ID Ticket price - $24.00; On-sale date - Friday, February 20 - 11:00AM

If anyone is looking for a really good local afterparty a bunch of Winnipeg fans will be meeting at either Grapes Restaurant or Shooter's Billiard Lounge around midnight. Further information to follow. |

I'm going to bring my camera in and just be discreet. I'm going to buy super high speed film so I won't have to use flash and attract attention. Hopefully they won't search though but it'll be hard to hide my camera and 3 lenses. |

If all tickets for the Winnipeg show are being sold through ticketmaster, I tend to believe what they have on their website. I will still check in at 9:30 to make sure, but it looks like 10:00 central according to the webpage... |

Wow. I quickly counted 64 there. And I have the most. I bet that makes me look pretty hopeful down here. We really do have a hardcore following of the Pixies down here in wee old South Dakota. I'd be more than happy to get half of what I need there. Hell, I'm more than happy that the Pixies are playing PERIOD. So we have 64 people to get tickets for on that list. Right? Let's do the math:
TICKETS NEEDED: 64 PEOPLE REPRESENTED ON THE LIST: 28
If 16 people are able to get through to Ticketmaster in time and everybody is able to get the maximum number of tickets (4), then everybody on that list should be accounted for. That would be ideal. We're gonna have to try our damndest, folks.

Hi all! Please add my name to the list for any extra tickets you all come up with. I am in Minneapolis and would love to see this show. I need 1 for sure, but 2 if possible. Great idea to try to get tix to the people from this board. There aren't many bands I'd travel to see, Frank/pixies are one of the few.

If it's not too late, I'd appreciate being put on the list for two tickets. I'll be trying for four, and I'm happy to contribute the spare tickets at cost to the forum cause. |

Are you going to try for tickets yourself and sell them at cost to members of the board if you do get through? |

Not only should everyone be trying for the maximum tickets (or whatever they can afford) on Saturday as if that was the only chance they will ever have -- but anyone who does successfully buy tickets for someone else on here gets at least one free beer (paid for by the recipient of the ticket) at the Albert or during the show.
I just made that up -- but sounds fair, eh? |

Ok guys, since the day is rapidly approaching we have to decide how the dividing up of tickets is going to happen for the extras we manage to get. Firstly how are we going to communicate that we have any extras? Should we just post here or maybe designate someone or an admin to compile the information. I think posting here would be bad as it would be messy as hell. One thing for sure though, I know anyone who doesn't get a ticket will be antsy to find out if they can get one so we should provide info on any extras we have immediately after we buy them or after our attempts to buy them fail so we know where everyone stands. So an hour or so after they go on sale we know everyone who has extras. Also we have two suggestions floating around about dividing them up. We could do it based on when you joined the board or we could randomly pick people from the list. Either way I believe we're all in agreement that if your name gets picked you will only get one ticket at a time even if you requested more than 1. So let's do a poll. I'll update it as more people vote. Here's my vote:
When joined board 1
Randomly pick 2 |

As for the tidiness issue, I think the admins should set up a sticky for selling tickets. All replies should be directed to the sellers' e-mail / IM rather than an endless stream of "Me! Me!" posts. People are going to get mail-bombed, but I'm not sure if that's avoidable.
There are still things to work out, though, obviously. It might be best to leave it at the discretion of the seller who to sell to, but I would highly advise using your own best judgment to ensure that the buyer is an active member of the board and not a scalper. |

Oops. sorry. yes, I plan on trying via the internet. If I am able to get tickets, I will buy the maximum and make them available to whoever needs them here. After talking with a friend, I need 2. |

I agree people should get them 1 at a time, and I think the order you joined the board is the fairest and least chaotic way.
Rather than have everyone mail bomb the ticket owners, someone should make a list of people who want tickets in the next 2 days, what show(s) they want, and then sort the list by forum age. Then the ticket owners can contact the people on the list in order.

I think that for general admission shows, the one-at-a-time system is great. If you only get one but need two, you can get your second on eBay and still save a ton of money. You and your friend can split the difference and still be happy.
Winnipeg is a whole other matter though. True, we should be happy just to be there, but if you're sitting all alone with a bunch of strangers, and your buddy is sitting all alone with a bunch of strangers ... hopefully we can avoid that scenario.
Maybe a compromise would be to give them out one at a time and then trade seats afterward. Kind of risky but it might work. |

faye, your point is valid but its going to be a free for all. anyways, lets vote and see which way is preferred.
roomloo, I dont think any more than 1 should be given out at a time. Otherwise, where does it end? what if you are going with 3 people? 4? You're there to see the pixies, not to chat with your friends :)

A lot of you will probably hate this idea, but do you think it's fair that people who actually live near the concert site get first priority? I say this because there's a lot of people who probably won't get a second chance to see the Pixies. It's basically a given that the Pixies will eventually play places like Toronto, Montreal, Minneapolis etc anyways. This is just an idea. If it were up to me, I'd go by the date you joined the forum(I think that's the best way to avoid selling to scalpers who just joined the board) |

I think the "where does it end" question can be answered easily. It ends at two. Anyone wanting four or six together is asking for too much. Three is a tricky number -- maybe we can make exceptions there or just suggest that those people try to trade tickets afterward. But four people sitting in two groups of two is much more desirable, I think, than two people sitting in two "groups" of one.
It has nothing to do with chatting ... it's more to do with sharing an experience. And being able to have someone to high-five when the Pixies play your favorite song. |

I don't really think we should worry about scalpers too much. What scalper is going to go to the trouble of trying to get the maybe 1 ticket they might get from one of us.

The thing is though all of us are planning to meet up there anyway so sure we'll all be strangers but after a few beers before the show it won't be as hard trying to relate. If you're one person there with another couple you're obviously with them. No one is going to be like "here's your ticket, don't talk to me".

When I saw FB at the Horseshoe in Toronto a couple of years back I had to buy my ticket from a scalper. I only arrived in TO the day of the show and had no idea he was performing. Ticket cost me 10 bucks more than it would have if I bought in advance and strangely enough it was the same cost as the ticket for the new tour. The scalper(who seemed like a nice enough guy) told me he knew that the show would sell out fast so he scooped up a bunch of tickets. I'm glad they have set a limit on tickets and anyone who would scalp this event is a farktard and not a fan. By the way, the BC theatre was originally an actual theatre until it was converted into a movie theatre and then back again. There is no bad seat im the house. When FB played here last year he played a Le Rendezvous which was an open floor GA show. I wish we had a venue that was open floor and not set seating. It's just a little constraining IMHO. |

I do agree with you, Matt. I guess I'm still thinking though that a good portion of people who get one ticket will have to get the other from another source, i.e., outside of frankblack.net.
However maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I'm thinking that if everyone on here does absolutely everything within their power to get tickets online at 10am sharp Saturday (remember to check starting at 9:30 though), only a small few of us will need tickets. So we might just be planning for a worst-case scenario. Here's hoping we end up with more extras than we have people needing tickets.
The lesson here is -- look at how complicated and ugly things could be if there aren't enough extra tickets to go around, and use that as your motivation to get your own tickets however you poassibly can. The last thing we need on here is loafers (and that is absolutely not directed at anyone in particular, just a general statement). |

I just got off the phone with a lady from ticketmaster. She gave me a tip and I thought I would pass it along. Apparently the biggest mistake that people make when ordering tickets is requesting a certain section. She says that if you want the best seats then just take the first 4 that you can. That's my plan. There are no bad seats at the walker. |
