A Minneapolis Pixies fan worth his/her salt would drive to Winnipeg Monday night, pick you up Tuesday morning, take you to the show Tuesday night, and then bring you to Winnipeg on Wednesday (and of course, they were going to Winnipeg on Wednesday anyway). It's just a 7 hour drive.
If I needed Minneapolis tickets, I'd consider it at least. |

I would think (hope) you'd be pretty much guaranteed a response in this thread, though. |

Mattb --
Even though I already have tickets to the Minneapolis show, I would gladly come pick you up if you get no takers. You have done so much for the people here that I have no problem doing this. That having been said, I'm sure someone will jump on this offer anyway.

As much as I hate to promote eBay, there's a fourth row ticket ending today without any bids yet. Opening bid is supposed to be $100.
No, this is not my auction, fools. |

So what's going on with pictures everyone? A few of us joined friendster but it seems most people don't want to. I have a new proposition. How about everyone send me a picture and I can set up a page so that we can all see what everyone looks like. I want to avoid doing something gay like wearing name tags and this way it can be something private that will only be linked form the board. Is anyone interested?

It's in your mail, Matt.
BTW, that Winnipeg auction I mentioned earlier ... it ended with no bids. A fourth row sec. A seat could have been had for $100! How the mighty have fallen... |

Good luck with your plan to get to minneapolis in 7 hours. I've made the trip many times and 7 hours is hard to do. Plan on 8 hours. Speed limits in the states are good (70mph). But I think it would be tight to make it in time for the start of the show, Unless it starts late. Good luck! |

Man, I'm already here and all my pics. suck. This is why I failed at becoming an obnoxious internet cam whore.
Roomloo, you look like Nick Cave in a cut scene from a Tarantino film. Seriously meant to be a compliment. |

The caravan should try and leave Mpls by 9am at the latest then. Actually, hearing what Kyle said I wouldn't mind trying 8:00. Shoot, that will be hard after Tuesday night's show. That's for the other thread though, I guess.
I guess if the opening band sucks there's no harm in getting to the show late, what with reserved seating and all. Not meaning I'd skip the pre-show get-together, just that if I got to that late I'd like to hang around a bit before going to the theater if possible. |

Loganz's and Ken's pics have been added. Somone pointed out that their face was stretched. In case anyone else didn't know those are just thumbnails of the original image that can be clicked to show the full picture. I know it's kind of a half assed job because the thumbnails aren't cropped but speed was my number one concern, when I get some time I'll crop them to their proper proportions. http://www.geocities.com/kittridge1/fbnet.html

I know of only one possible lead on this forum for extras and he/she will make him/herself known once the ticket becomes available (previously I thought it was two, but I believe now I was wrong). If someone else thinks they might have one or two, even if it's not for sure yet, please speak up.
Winnipeg tickets are fairly cheap on eBay these days (relatively speaking), if all else fails... |

Is ebay safe now? I would trust the sellers but I don't think I could trust ticketmaster. |

Tough call. I'd say yeah, it's safe, and it certainly doesn't look like auctions are being cancelled, but I can't say for sure. Has anyone heard anything definitive?
I guess one possible catch might be that you and your friends are in Winnipeg. Ticketmaster might be more likely to crack down if the ticket is sold to someone from Winnipeg, but maybe someone could correct me on that. |

Yeah, just read the fine print. Winnipeggers can't bid more than 70.00. Could think of other ways to get around this but the people I'm am trying to grab these for are supposed to be die hard fans. I'll let them try for awhile. Sidenote; it seems that you can earn a living selling tickets on ebay. Clicked on other auctions and this guy had tons. It's a living I guess. |

I received my 2 tickets from Mattb today. I hope I haven't complicated matters by buying 2 tickets, when I only need 1. I was just getting a little antsy about there being a shortage of tickets, so when I saw Mattb's post I grabbed them. So the extra is available for someone on the forum. |

I'm kind of aggrivated with the way tickets are sold. I was in line in Winnipeg and I was the 4th damn person and I didn't get a ticket. Here is a list of things I would like to complain about. 1. Aerosmith- there were two ticket terminals at the location I was at, but because Aerosmith tickets went on sale at the same time one of them was designated for that task. If both had have been open I would have got a ticket. 2. Internet buying- Tickets sell so freaking fast on the internet. There were only 12 tickets sold at my location, and there were only 5 locations selling in Winnipeg. Where's the incentive to line up? Used to be you lined up and were guaranteed a ticket. Now only a random selection of internet people sitting at home get tickets. i'm not saying you guys shouldn't have got them, but give us 10 minutes to only sell to the people in line. There were only 6 people in line an hour before the sale, but everyone that was there had been there for hours. Sell without the internet for 10 minutes and only the late comers get screwed.
For God's sake I know everyone wants to see the FIRST show so they can brag about it but I have to live in this crappy town all year and see all my favourite bands playing in other towns. THen the PIXIES come here and I get the shaft because of the internet. And now it's not the first show anyways. How do you feel about that? I'll see them in Saskatoon but it's a huge inconvenience since they're playing 10 minutes from my house two days before. How would you feel if it was your town?
Anyways, I hope you all have a great time. When the pixies walk out on stage think of me at home... alone.. packing my bags to go to Saskatoon.

wow, ddddadddd, you must be my twin. i was 4th in line for vancouver and also got the shaft. i too will be going to saskatoon for the show. i figured that i should get tickets while i could for that show, and it is on a week-end. (i did try for spokane but no luck there either). i think saskatoon will have the highest concentration of true fans! (this is the silver lining).

You've completely lost your mind if you think that the highest concentration of Pixies fans is any in Canada, let alone Saskatoon.

Everyone on this thread heard my ass breaking story when the tickets went on sale that morning. I was supposed to sneak one more person through the security doors that day but I thought it was too much of a gamble all things considered. Turns out he was 4th in line so I didn't feel that bad and he also knew friends that were in line at another TM as well as having his girlfriend on-line. I found out when I got home from work that neither he nor his gf were able to score them and felt pretty bad considering I could have helped him be number 3 in line. To add to my woe it also turns out that the concert is happening on his birthday. Had to score for my 2 best first because I don't really know this guy but spending a few hours with all the people in line you really got a good sense of community.
Realist, you're still a douche. You can't equate a "true fan" based on geographical location. The reason the show up here will kick more is because we're starving. Finally someone throws us a frick'in bone. |

I suppose I would be thankful for the chance to see them at all because most bands don't come any further east of Vancouver nor west of Toronto. An 8 hour drive is not really that horrible - others are coming from much farther.
For the record, I'll be seeing them in both Saskatoon and Winnipeg and am immensely excited.

a) Have you been here to compare? Done a poll? Study?
b) Just because they're from Boston, doesn't mean they have the highest concentration of fans there. Especially since it's easier to have a higher concentration in a smaller city.
c) While I'm quite positive that Saskatoon doesn't have the highest concentration of Pixies fans in the world (that honour is probably reserved for somewhere in France, though I've not done a study or poll :) ), I think the point Shine was trying to make was that there will be lots of people here because they couldn't make it to any other shows (travelling from far and wide), and that the scalpers didn't really get any Saskatoon tickets.

Hello, does anyone want four Winnepeg tickets, face value? Roomloo, if the list is still applicable, I would like to go that route. If not, whoever was on the 'list' but didn't get tickets has first dibs. So speak up. -Eli |

------------------------------ With regards to this comment posted after my whining: Of course I'm thankful that I get to see them at all. if they were JUST playin in sask I would go and be happy as hell. The point is that they're playing in MY town and I still have to drive. If I had the money, I'd see them in every city. I barely have the money for a ticket, much less for gas and hotel. Nor do I have ample time off from work to drive to saskatoon. Believe me I'm grateful, but damn the internet |
