I think if we get things done this week tickets will be arriving well before April 14. But yes, we can't afford to slack much.
I'm staying at the Marlborough (Ramada) and I think a lot of other people are too. Although there is a special Pixies group rate at the Clarion as well. I'm sure you'll run into plenty of fans at either hotel. I'm planning to do the meetup at the Albert, although I've heard of another meetup at someplace else that I can't remember the name of (Kingshead?) |

The Kingshead is a 'nicer' venue to meet up at, but it has the problem of the $5 membership fee, with one guest allowed per member. Not a problem for me as I go there frequently as it is.
The Albert is a bit of a dive, but quite historic, as I think that both Iggy Pop and Husker Du have graced the stage. As well, Black Flag had all of their equipment stolen from the Albert if I remember correctly (the gig was available on bootleg for years as the '7-11' bootleg). The funniest thing about the Albert is that it has a large number of 'regulars' who sit all afternoon and drink, and inevitably one of them passes out on their table. Then, when the band playing there that evening starts up, they wake up, sit for a couple of minutes trying to pretend that they came for the band and weren't just passed out before sheepishly wandering out.
The Marlborough is a pretty nice place. Very well located for the show. A three minute walk if you are the slowest walker in the universe.

I'm also staying at the Marlborough and flying in on the 13th the day before the show. I figure I'll probably never go to Winnipeg again so it will be worthwhile to see as much of it as possible. I'm planning on going to the Albert as well before the show.

It seems like Marlborough/Albert is a pretty popular combination ... out of curiosity, are there any Clarion and/or Kingshead people on the list?
In other news, Faye wrote back to me in a flash and confirmed that Bryson's tickets are still available to the list. So that part is a go, at least... |

By the way, I will do the post-sale match tonight, one ticket at a time first-come-first-serve, unless:
a) Someone objects to that and wishes to discuss it more
b) Someone asks for more time to decide what we're doing.
Again, I'm not so much advocating one-at-a-time, first-come-first-served, and like I said I have nothing at stake so I'd be happy to go with whatever people think is best, but at this point that option sounds the least controversial even if it might not be completely without controversy.
Hopefully everyone concerned will read this before tonight. But I assume everyone will, since we're so interested in the results. |

| Also, if MattB or porkbone1 could definitively let us know what is happening with porkbone1's tickets before I run the matching, that would be great. I am assuming there will be the same number of tickets (11) to go around either way, but I want to try to match USA buyers with USA sellers and Canada buyers with Canada sellers as much as possible. |

My friends have voted for Kings Head, so I'll be heading up the preshow party there. There's darts, pool, good grub, and a good atmosphere.
Should we have a new topic?: Info about Winnipeg (hotels/preshow/etc.?). This current topic is getting a little too long and diverse. I can start a new topic and review what has been posted already 'bout the 'peg. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Okay, here are the post-sale pairings. I went with the first-come-first-served, one-at-a-time method, and started again at the top once we reached the end of the pre-deadline list. I had to leave out hhands and Alec E but they and anyone else who didn't get as many as they hoped still have a couple options before eBay. More on that later.
Here's the list.
johnny_4_president (2) -- brysonmeunier
debaserjones (2) -- roomloo (from EdBudd)
rexella (2) -- MattB or porkbone1
gkd (2) -- MattB
qris (1) -- roomloo (from EdBudd)
ediger (1) -- liffey
mjazac (1) -- roomloo (from EdBudd)
rexella - your seller depends on whether porkbone1 is selling his tickets to MattB or not. Contact one or both of them and they should fill you in on what's going on.
debaserjones, qris, and mzajac -- there is going to be a slight delay in sending your tickets. I need to get them from EdBudd first and as of yesterday he still hadn't gotten them from some friends of his. I'm guessing I'll have them by early next week. I'll e-mail him again tomorrow morning, and keep you posted.
Anyone who didn't get as many tickets as they originally asked for (namely debaserjones, rexella, hhands, and Alec E) -- we still have three possible extras available. The following sellers had listed themselves as having one (though tentative) extra ticket: havinganyfun, chrischob, and deathorglory. I would contact them. Of course that might mean having to outbid one another, but I trust you'll still get a good deal. And hopefully there will be at least two tickets available in there.
And pixiesarethegreatest from the pre-sale -- those tentatives should be viewed as an option for you too, but still try solace first.
Finally, jackanapes, you technically have the same options as everyone else but I'll leave it up to you whether to give the other people a chance first.
I guess I or a group of people could prioritize who goes after the potential extras first in order to avoid chaos, but only if someone suggests it.

Ok, sorry, my net wasnt working too well lately and I havent been able to keep up with everything. What exactly does this mean? Am I getting a ticket from Liffey? If so, do I need to get in touch with him or how is this working? Sorry if this is a hassle. |

Yeah, buyers are listed first in each line followed by the sellers. If you're a buyer, contact your seller to make arrangements. Expect to pay face value plus any additional costs paid by the seller, such as Ticketmaster charges and shipping. If the seller doesn't have contact information in their profile, let me know as I might possibly have an e-mail address someplace.
So yes, you will be buying from Liffey. All sellers have confirmed at least twice that they have tickets to sell us, so I think everyone should feel safe in their matchups. |

| That would put you matched with Rexella then. There are one or two Minneapolis buyers, but I matched them up with myself since I'm getting their tickets from EdBudd and don't want to hold up the process any longer by making someone wait to get them in the mail afterward. |

Hey if the Minneapolis thing affects anyone's need / availability of Winnipeg tickets, make sure and let us know. I could probably use one more ticket now (I might be the only one for whom getting Minneapolis tickets means needing MORE Winnipeg tickets -- long story), jackanapes needs a couple, debaserjones needs one, and someone else has indicated to me they won't need theirs anymore but I won't speak for them publicly. Hopefully I'm not forgetting anyone. hhands, I think you said you got Minneapolis -- are you still looking for Winnipeg?
Also, has anyone had any luck with those three tentative sellers I listed?
I'll put myself at the end of the pecking order since I already have tickets and jackanapes asked before I did, but maybe there's still a chance... |

I wish I had a tour bus driver, or no job. I work at night, I can take one day for Minneapolis, but that's about it, unless my boss has other plans for me.
Thank you everyone, I'll make room for another Pixies fan. The old Walker (Burton Cummings) is an awesome place, visually and accoustically, but I'm pumped about a bar gig, I hope I get a seat (giggle).
I hope I bump into some of you after the show, I'll probably be at the Kings' Head.

I'm still waiting to hear back from 3 of my buyers. One of them emailed me on Tuesday, I wrote back the same day but still haven't heard anything back. I think this Sunday will be a fair cut off time so if I don't have everything worked out by then I might have a few more tickets.
There is also a possibility that I may pass on the Winnipeg show because of developments in Minnesota and the rumours of the Toronto show (which would save me from flying) but then again even if they do play Toronto I might just go to Winnipeg anyway since everything is already booked but I haven't decided so that might mean two more tickets but it might not.

i got the tix of ebay, they were 90cnd each...
i called ticketmaster to verify they are valid....
they are ticketfast tickets....
im ready to help out some hurting pixies heads, so roomloo, what does the scene look like???
