So if the Pixies do their own headlining tour, which two bands would you have for support? I'll get the ball rolling with British Sea Power and Stellastarr*. In making my choices I have tried to pick bands who are not yet too big to only headline gigs, who have been influenced by the Pixies and have certain similarities. |

I think British Sea Power would be a bad choice since they sound like a straight ripoff of the Pixies anyway (with David Bowie singing)

Do they bollocks!!! Clean your ears out. Don't get me started on all this Pixies rip-off crap again. Nobody I have ever heard 'rip them off'. End of!!! To be honest with you I wish someone would, rather that than The Fuckin' Darkness!!! |

There's personal rumor and speculation (total speculation) that The Bennies will be supporting the Pixies. I have no evidence to support this thoery other than the fact that several months ago, FB talked to Jeremy (of The Bennies) and told him that he had a "hypothetical offer" for them...this is the only hypothetical offer we could come up with. That would be pretty amazing. I coulda toured with the Pixies if I hadn't quit, hah...total speculation, remember.

Oh, well I don't know if they'd go to Europe or not...but they're an alt-rock band from PA who are very fucking talented and also unsigned...they toured with FB&TC in November 2002. I used to play guitar with them.

I can see where you're coming from with Throwing Muses but I'd like to see some new bucks given a chance.
So why are you not in The Bennies now El Barto? |

Long story. Basicly I stole the drummer's girlfriend and ran away with her (sorta). I kinda lost interest in a way. I don't regret quitting, but a part of me would still love to play/work with them...Jeremy in particular, cause he's fucking genius.

I think that the Shins would be an excellent choice as an opener, followed by either Spoon or Guided by Voices. I don't think that would ever happen, but it would be pretty sweet. Or maybe the Smiths could also reunite and open for the Pixies! Yeah, even better. One can only dream... |

it be even better if there was no opening act all. just pixies pixies pixies.
but since that won't happen, they should just get stereolab to open for them. |

someone has already asked BillyO (Kristin's Hubby + Manager) on the throwingmusic.com message board if 50 Foot Wave (Kristin's new band) would tour with the Pixies. He said it would/could never happen...

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead Shonen Knife or KISS!!! Yeah! Gene Simmons & Black Francis! The Pixies could get a giant logo that shoots fire! Imagine Kim singing Gigantic while spitting blood! Don't deny that you'd all want to see it! You wanted the best, you've got the best!

they should have dave do his magic first, and then some martini's stuff, and then have the breeders do a few songs, and then the catholics, and then....

i had thought that for the headlining UK shows atleast, they probly wouldn't have any support... but now seeing that the doors are opening at 7pm for the Brixton shows, there has to be a support cause they will probly play 80mins max at these shows, and it would be an awefully early night, which would actually be a good thing, if they played alone....

If it's not the Bennies, it should be another unknown band. I would hate to miss my chance to see the Pixies reunion because all the ...Trail of Dead fans, etc. gobbled up the tix first.
I saw them twice and I can't remember who opened up for them and I like it that way.

I have it from a good source(i.e the crap-humour part of my brain) that support will be provided by Breeders, Catholics and Martinis. |

That's a real shame El Barto!!! Hope you are still with this girl.
I am in the process of forming a band so I must remember not to run off with the drummers girlfriend. Actually that's not likely as he hasn't got a girlfriend and hasn't had one in years. |
