Does anyone know what record stores are selling this? I have a couple chains by me (HMV and Borders among them) but I don't want to wander around aimlessly all day and I can't find any info on the Spinart site. Help! |

I, also, would like an answer to this question, i've found nothing online anywhere that would tell me where i can find this must have CD.
Great site by the way.

You should visit GEMM (http://www.gemm.com), they have tons of FB singles. I found my copy here.

But, I want it today! It is supposed to be released IN STORES today, so that was my preference. Thanks though, cause if I can't find it in person - I am sure I will buy it on-line. |

I called my local rock shop, Reckless Records, and was told that the release date they had was 9/2.

If you chose Gemm, visit their site twice a day at least... and don't wait too long to order when you find the jewel... Good luck !

She sent an email last week saying that August 19th was the release date...I don't really feel like I need to email her again. |

I just picked it up at Atomic.... The best $6.28 I ever spent! The live stuff is from Apr. 4 in Regina and it rocks. I also like the fact that FB has enough cojones to release stuff that is not all polished up and glossy. A little over 19 minutes of damn the torpedoes, in your face, here it is a rockin', raw power. Another gem..... |

OK, now I am 10x more frustrated. I have called pretty much every record store in Chicago (even Virgin Megastore- ARGHHHHH!) and noone seems to know what I am talking about. I did however pick up my copy of Everything Is New today, so it hasn't been a total wash.

I was surprised to even find the thing! On the 8th I went to a local record shop to buy the EVERYTHING IS NEW single, and they were (!) out of stock! The kid working there told me he didn't understand why it was selling so well (lol). But he did say they had the NADINE EP, to my astonishment. I hadn't even realized it was released, so I bought it of course. It is of course, great. HERMAPHRODITOS is awesome, and JANE rocks! Anyhow...I'm just wondering (don't get me wrong, I do like EVERYTHING IS NEW alright) why this song was picked as the single to represent SMYT. Surely MASSIF CENTRALE would have been THE single...or even HORRIBLE DAY. I dunno. EVERYTHING IS NEW is good...it's just too damn Tom Petty.

that's because i just posted it yesterday sorry that took so long.
i was about to make a separate topic but since this one's already relevant, here also are two links to flash players that play songs from both "nadine" and "show me your tears"!
show me your tears: www.spinartrecords.com/fbplayer/amazon.html
show me your tears/nadine: www.spinartrecords.com/fbdual/dual.html
there's even a nifty "send to friend" link |

and yes, btw, the official release date for the ep was yesterday - the stores got their shipments way too early and i think a lot of them were confused and just started selling them when they got them. |

no, don't go there. It's haunted! Actually, I live right down the street from the place and I don't want you guys stealing all the copies before I get my chance to walk down there. I'll have to go after work today and beat you to it.

I just made the one hour drive to Criminal records and got it. And, holy shit, the 2nd time of hearing it, Nadine blew me away. Dave from Birmingham, it's probably no more than 4 hours to get it over here, or you could get it online.
I talked to the guy at the record store and asked him why they don't get SMYT till Sep. 23, and he said they pushed the release date back. I don't think he knew what the hell he was talking about, but I don't know. |

not one store in chicago on that list - what gives? http://www.spinartrecords.com/frankblackep.html
R ...i guess this is what gives: -----Original Mess----- From: chris@spinartrecords.com [mailto:chris@spinartrecords.com] Sent: Friday, August 22, 2003 9:02 AM To: Randy pestka Subject: Re: 'nadine' single by FB&C
It is not our choice Randy - I would love for it to be sold in Chicago (and NYC, Philadelphia, and a few other cities that currently do not). This is a licensed CD, not a spinART proper release. The large group of retailers listed on our website banded together and paid to release this CD, if a Chicago store had participated, it too would be carrying it. I am sorry it is inconvenient, but I would recommend using one of the stores' web service.
Cheers,
Chris Mooney

Yeah, i might take a trip over to Hot'lanta and pick it up. I haven't been to Criminal in a while, its always fun to talk Hellboy with the Chick at the front counter. I wonder if the Braves are in town this weekend? Maybe i'll hit 6 flags, hell it's only 2 1/2 hrs away. Where did you drive in from, i grew up in Macon, that's about an hour from Downtown.

Yay, another GAite. I'm in Snellville which is by Stone Mountain. I think you might be able to order it from the Criminal website (www.criminal.com), and if not, you can reserve a copy (that's what I did) and come pick it up in a couple of days. |

I've just got the Nadine Live Ep and I can already say it's great. The sound is excellent, Nadine is a good song - better than Everything Is New in my opinion - and the live versions of Jane and Gouge Away are memorable. I have two (minor) regrets : Los Angeles is too short (2'23) and Hermaphroditos is too noisy to my delicate ears. |

Your poor virgin ears! I am very happy they included Hermaphroditos, it is one of my live favorites. Honestly though, at this point, I would be happy with a CD of Frank reading the yellow pages.
I am such a sucker. |

the reason there are no chi-towners is just because there don't happen to be any chicago stores in the retail coalition that put this whole plan into motion. i'd give you one of my usual lovely, elongated, and boring explanations of that, but i'm not the retail guy so i don't entirely know how it works!
however, at least a few of those stores should have online ordering, so it's still accessible to everybody. (you will note there aren't any nyc stores on the list either!) |
