Ring the Bell
I'm really surprised people are voting for Bagboy & Baal's Back as they stand out to me as the two best of the bunch! And Blue Eyed Hexe is great too! |

Also, Dean's point about Toe is valid I think. HCYM and Toe are things you would hear on the Muzak at the dentist's office.
This whole thread is actually reminding me (again) of how inferior IC is to their other albums (even HC).
I listen to the opening of Blue Eyed Hexe a lot, and then skip the rest of the song (once the singing starts).
Yeah - that's how this works. The vocals on the verse of Baal's are real turn-off for me. For me, though, I've been re-evaluating IC in this process. And, it seems to me that IC takes a lot more risks than HC. Which, makes it more interesting in a sense, it also make it such that there are some misses, though, too. |

Blue Eyed Hexe, again. The first 15 seconds sound great, full of promise. But those riffs do nothing for me. And the screaming is off-putting.

At first I thought the Blue Eyed Hexe bridge was BF experimenting another kind of Scream, in AC/DC style.
But after listening to Baals Back, I start to realize that he just screams like that nowadays.
Blue Eyed Hexe bridge & Baals Back are the only "screaming" parts on the latest two albums, right ?

Indie Cindy (the song). LAME-O
You silly guys. Hexe is the only song that makes IC tolerable.

I'm beginning to think very little 'Hexe'. Used to think it was just OK. After reading these posts and re-listening, I'm putting it in the Baal's Back category, for lame "over-performed" vocals. The difference for me is that Baal's has a much more interesting riff. As for IC, I really like the melody on the chorus (a lot, among the best), and the guitar riff on the verses is interesting. I hope it makes it through to the end... |

Do you think BF is using this AC-DC kind of scream because he's kind of struggling with his voice nowadays ? (Which could be understandable after all those years screaming his lungs out onstage). I'm trying to think about other screams on IC & HC but can't think of anything else besided those ACDC kind of screams on Hexe & Baals. His voice sounds better onstage with some FX on Tame, Planet, etc...

It seems to make sense. It's a sort of "yell without projecting" kind of thing. Like a raspy "whisper-yell". It's really awful to my ears... |

Wow I love Blue Eyed Hexe.... I'd say it's one of the best on Indie Cindy.
I'd have to vote Snakes. |

Switching to Snakes from Bagboy. Though the 'cover your breath polish your teeth' part of Bagboy nearly drives me insane the rest of the song is much more memorable than Snakes.
Though Snakes would make a great Catholics track.

I don't know if they're salvageable. Maybe let Dave or Kim sing them. |

Snakes is another one that feels like a classic Catholics track. Really catchy, really interesting guitar interplay, evocative lyrics, great verses/chorus contrast.
Great song. I'd say a highlight of IC. |
