To be honest, this one sounds the most "b sideish" out of all the new songs I have heard so far. That being said, doesn't it sound exactly like something you would have heard on the flip side of the Bossanova and Trompe singles? It is one of the most pixie sounding songs so far.

Nice find! I really can't say that it sounds like an a-side or a b-side, but it does seem to have a really strong melody and some signature joey guitar sounds going on. Really looking forward to hearing a studio version in the future. |

Vocals approach kinda sounds like Adda Lee to me, when he sings Magdalena. All of these songs are at least intriguing, though this one's straightforward nature maybe doesn't excite as much. Anytime we hear Joey is a bonus though, he really takes BF songs up a few levels. |

I know, I commented on the dude's page but he removed it and then blocked me. So i sent him a nasty message instead telling him nabbing my vid was a real dick move.

And if you feel so inclined, spam the hell out of the other guy. ;)
But back to the song, this one made the best first impression on me out of the other live debuts during the LA shows (Blue Eyed Hexe, Greens and Blues, Silver Snail). The groove of it and the chorus vocal melody just grab me and stays with me. Cannot wait for the studio version. |

I think it's incredible that this song exists, and I really don't understand that the conservative fans at least don't embrace this track? Personally, I like that band goes in a new direction, and I think 'Andro Queen' and 'Silver Snail' sounds like the future of the Pixies. That being said, a track like 'Magdalena 318' also sounds exactly like the Pixies, and still seems like a magical moment to me. 'Blue Eyed Hexe' i a screamer, but still it kinda says "fuck you" to the fact that critics always put Pixies in "lords of indie rock" box, by almost sounding like AC/DC. And it's fun (and many of the old tracks that were just plain silly as well).
That is what I like about Charles' work. He's not the king of grunge. He's a fan of alternative pop music like Lou Reed, Roxy Music etc., and has a broad musical palette. He still has his integrity intact, and the new music is very strong. With these tracks - minus 'Another Toe' - we have the perfect comeback album. It seems like they - almost - did everything right with this 'Pixies comeback'.
Yeah, I don't get why the purists don't love What Goes Boom. To me it sounds just like something that might have been on Bossanova or Trompe Le Monde.
As far as Another Toe goes... I was on iTunes yesterday and off all the new EP1 songs, it was the MOST purchased. I think maybe casual alt rock fans that iTunes is directing to the new Pixies EP are listening to samples and liking that one!

What Goes Boom is my daily shot of Pixies 2.0 A brilliant song, with similar ingredients to Alec Eiffel, Space...
Greens And Blues is very uplifting too, I like Joey's riff which sounds like a happier Hang Wire

Greens and Blues also has a bit I Bleed in it.
G&B and Magdalena are both very pop. I like it a lot. Hopefuly the production isn't powerpop like Another Toe.

Dude.
I think you should get over yourself. The Internet has an intrinsically sharing and distributing nature. It's what it makes it what it is. The most obvious benefit of such nature is resilience. If something ever happens to you and/or your account and online stuff, many people will be glad that this guy made a "dick move" and replicated your content so it doesn't get lost. It's thanks to "dick moves" like this that a lot of stuff is still available and can be viewed, appreciated, preserved, and even studied.
And get your priorities straight. Ultimately, it's the Pixies' work that is getting more exposure, not yours whether you "sign" this video or not. What the hell did you do? You held a phone at head's height in a rock'n'roll concert. Holy shit, do you want an Oscar or a Grammy for that? You want credit for what? It's not even like you wrote a script, developed a concept, and hired a small army of professionals to shoot, edit and release a movie. You just held a phone high in a rock concert. You're intent on claiming credit for that?
I'm amazed.
