Got there just as he went 9:30-ish, Charles was great (what else is new?)...combo of Pixies, solo and Caths
Glad I moved my way up to very front since alot of peeps were talking further back....annoying, but is a bar, after all, all standing room.

My faves were Monkey, Gouge, Nimrod's and a ton of others

Seing him Fri at Symphony Space, too all seating got 2nd row....looking forward to it

Boy, tho, I miss seeing him w/ a full band.....be it the Pixies, the Catholics or whatever all good tho.he's the man

Oh, cool moment......as he doing "Gouge" after the 2nd verse (I couldnt help myself).....I loudly say "Marijuana!" a few times. Charles/ Frank/ Francis fucking laughs, says "allright" then SCREAMS the word a la the song as only he can (Full disclosure...I love marijuana and love Charles and love "Gouge" and love......

ha ha. No, Mac....no weed for a solo Frank show. too interested in watching the Master strum his chords as if I'm watching him compose these
songs for the first time, solo. That's how it felt. Like an informal gathering at Charles' placewhile he talks, explains shit and like that. He's so funny..........sometiimes when he'd start to say stuff and didnt know how to finish a thought he'd say "and blah, blah.blah" haha just like one of us mortals.
When i see him on Fri, i'd LOVE to hear "Czar" or "Parry the Wind"

I'd seen FB and the Caths about 8 times, back on their 2002? tour, kept seeing all shows in the NYC, Phil, DC area. Also, in 2000 about 4-5 times all in NYC/Bkln, upstate, etc.

Then when the Pixies re-united saw them exactly 20 (TWENTY! times) In 2004-05. Twice in Lowell, MA twice in Philly, twice in DC, EIGHT straight nites here in NYC- Hammerstein Ballroom......once at Jones Beach once at Coney Island.once at U Mass

Then in 2009, ehen they were STILL touring (mercenary bastards!...just kidding) saw them 3 nites in a row back at Hammerstein on their...ahem..."Doolittle" tour.

But never saw Francis solo til last nite. BUT have seen the Breeders 3 times, twice in 2002-ish? and just last week at Webster Hall.

Whew! I'm fucking tired. Peace out.

Good show in a fun venue. The performance was a bit on the "loose" side....songs sort of trailing off at the end...but it was all good

Cactus
Wave of Mutilation
Subbacultcha
Silver Snail
Bullet
Black Rider
All Around the World
All My Ghosts
Mr. Grieves
(I Want to Live on an) Abstract Plain
Sing For Joy
Nimrod’s Son
Six-Sixty-Six
Monkey Gone to Heaven
She Took All the Money
You Can’t Break a Heart and Have It
Tight Black Rubber
Angels Come to Comfort You
That Burnt Out Rock and Roll (Gary Green cover)
Gouge Away
Wheels
--encore--
Another Velvet Nightmare (with Reid Paley)
Ugly Life (with Reid Paley)
Magic Cup (with Reid Paley)
Wild Man From Borneo (Kinky Friedman cover…with Reid Paley)

Highlight: Tight Black rubber. Love that song, never seen it live. In fact, I loved the whole Bluefinger section. I thought he'd just do She Took All the Money and then move on, as I've seen before, but instead he ripped through 4 straight! Nice. Other Highlights: All My Ghosts. I'd never seen Wheels live, so that was very cool. And I've seen Francis & Paley together before and couldn't believe there were no Paley & Francis songs...so it was cool to get two in the encore.

Lowlight: some fool behind me ruined Gouge Away by screaming "Marijuana" over and over [just kidding! ;)]
