High octane vicarious thrills. Mouthwatering. Not too much of a good thing. No wonder your beer consumption. Keep it up.

No -- I wish I knew how. I did make strawberry jam last weekend, though. It was great on my bread.

I was a little shocked to find out how to make butter.

Take cream, whip it.

I put cream in a glass jar and shake it for a long time, till it gets a bit dry, then keep at it and eventually you end up with butter. I like it a bit more solid so I keep going but if you like it more like a cream, stop sooner. It's surprisingly easy and tastier than the stuff from the grocery store.

Fresh baked bread is amazing, sometimes I'll stop in at the local italian joint and get a loaf fresh from their oven, too hot to slice, take it home in a paper bag and let the dleicious scent fill my place, slice off a chunk and just let the butter melt. That's great that you make your own bread.

cheers

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it this weekend.

My oldest son, who is 13, has never had butter, and only recently began eating dairy products. He was born with a severe milk allergy, but we'd been told kids occasionally grow out of allergies in their teen years. So we had him tested over the past couple months (it's quite an ordeal), and he was cleared a couple weeks ago. It turns out he finds most dairy products weird and not that enjoyable, but we'll see what he thinks of homemade butter.

That's great that your son outgrew it!

I think I used whipping cream when I last made it. I'll get back to you with how long I shook it,

I spent most of the summer getting my vegetables, particularly tomatoes from a farmer's market, very tasty! But now the transition to the ones in the supermarket has been bad. I have to find another source or just stop eating them for now, which is a shame. They look like tomatoes but they lack the taste.

Broccoli, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, mushrooms, almond slivers, stir fried in olive oil; was out of onion, garlic, and hot and medium peppers, otherwise they would've gone in as well.

Coastline,

I use Heavy Whipping Cream, which I pour into a glass jar. I shake it by hand for around 26 minutes. At a certain point, it may appear dry and clumpy but keep going and the liquid will reappear. Keep shaking and when the time's up, just drain off the excess fluid and the remainder is the tasty butter for your homemade bread.

I usually keep shaking it a bit longer so it's a more solid form, if you like it creamier, stop earlier. You can just eyeball it. Good luck if you make it.

very aware of the unintentional innuendos...

i had a couple hard boiled eggs for breakfast. was a bit worried when they floated stubbornly and about to throw them away, but i felt a bit adventurous and a bit hungry and gave them a go.
beautiful yolk and white, splendid aroma.

worried some more when i saw the date printed on the shell

still, no other feedback yet. even after taking the tummy for a couple hour drive over some vicious serpentines.

what we have learned today:
do pay attention and clear the olde stuff from the fridge before stocking up again.
free range eggs are the dog's testes, i'm sold.

quite regular, thank you, and blood and urine results to match

i see you're taking good care as well. maybe we can expect a bump of that colon cleansing thread?

i'm no gastro doctor.. though i'm a fan of one, or of his music before the medical career, local scene, hilarious guy, anyway he recommends taking care of the intestinal flora by supplying some cultures when needed, like, yoghurt and kefir and other probiotic stuff. (see, eating, drinking and outputing threads all in harmony)

wiki has this: Flatulence, the most commonly reported symptom of lactose consumption, was shown to be lower by 50% after the consumption of kefir compared to the consumption of milk.
isn't that a sound counterargument when people complain? "hey, cut me some slack, i'm down by 50% compared to a milk diet!" still, there will always be them glass-is-half-empty-people.

Eating a Rustlers microwave burger. It's as far away from real food as one can get. I feel dirty. Even a Pot Noodle is a huge step up from this. :(
