What's on my mind is that there used to be a thread called "What's On Your Mind?" but it was inexplicably locked after 111 pages.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Today I found out that wings do not mainly use the Bernoulli principle to fly as I had been taught in school, and even in ground school. There's some more conspiracy for y'all.
"How can a plane fly inverted?"
UK scientists design a flying saucer using almost exactly the same design I thought up 15 years ago.
I was going to put the fan in the middle of a donut and try to recirculate the air using ducts.
Of course, I was told it wouldn't work. |

no vovat. it certainly isn't, you should quit your job for making you work on hallowe'en, tell them you'll work all of ramadan, hannukah, and kwanzaa instead and run out of the office screaming "freedom of religion, freedom of religion!"

I'm thinking about stealing or "borrowing" a chair from work. All my chairs at home are not ergonomic and it's killing my back. I'm working from home 2-3 days a week. Should I just ask if I can take a chair or just take it? I'm afraid if I ask, I'll call attention to myself, but if I just roll one out the door and take it home, I bet no one would even notice.
Since I'm working for them and authorized to work remotely, they should be providing me correct ergonomic working conditions, right?
Maybe I should ask Jimmy about this.

But it's a temp job, so it wouldn't make sense for me to quit when it'll be over in January anyway.

i bitched and complained about the chairs at one of my jobs so bad and they ended up buying me a $400 office chair that i hated even more, they then let me go pick one out, i saved them about $100, then i quit about 3 months later. well, at least the next guy/gal got a comfy chair.
you should tell them you might have to take some time off if you don't get a comfortable chair pretty quick, they will probably let you take the old one home and voila! new chair at work, new chair at home.

you're a temp and they made you work hallowe'en, i'd get a new agency pal, tell them you only want to work 9-3 monday to thursay for full pay, they'll find you job. and if they can't, sue!

The Bob Dylan song "Mama You Been On My Mind" -
Jack Johnson did a nice cover of it on the "I'm Not There" soundtrack that got me thinking about it. It's good - but after hearing it I had to go back to hear Dylan's
the lyrics are fitting for this thread
Perhaps it's the color of the sun cut flat An' cov'rin' the crossroads I'm standing at, Or maybe it's the weather or something like that, But mama, you been on my mind.
I don't mean trouble, please don't put me down or get upset, I am not pleadin' or sayin', "I can't forget." I do not walk the floor bowed down an' bent, but yet, Mama, you been on my mind.
Even though my mind is hazy an' my thoughts they might be narrow, Where you been don't bother me nor bring me down in sorrow. It don't even matter to me where you're wakin' up tomorrow, But mama, you're just on my mind.
I am not askin' you to say words like "yes" or "no," Please understand me, I got no place for you t' go. I'm just breathin' to myself, pretendin' not that I don't know, Mama, you been on my mind.
When you wake up in the mornin', baby, look inside your mirror. You know I won't be next to you, you know I won't be near. I'd just be curious to know if you can see yourself as clear As someone who has had you on his mind.
