Floop, do you buy all your beers by the 4 or 6 pack? or do you go to a fine purveyor and choose a dozen or so single can/bottle samplers and kinda get to them when you can? just curious cause i find it hard to judge a beer by a single can/bottle. i usually by my 12 or 15 pack for the week then grab 1 or 2 single samplers and start each session with the sampler. tried this one Friday:

- did not like it at all. Keep your Apricots away from my Weizen please. blecchh.

and then had this most of the day Saturday:

It was very smooth, tastier than most other lagers however it was pretty generic. The annual Lawn Bowls tourney I enter was sponsored but they ran out, haha.

most of the time i buy individual 22oz "bomber" sizes, only because most of the beers i want only come in that format. i like trying different beers, and during 1 drinking session like to mix it up. lately i've been getting way deeper into the craft beer thing (it's a slippery slope).. doing trades on beeradvocate for beers i can't otherwise get here etc.. trying to get a hold of beers i keep reading about or seeing on top lists. want to try all the heavy hitters i've been hearing about

for beer that i just like to have around i prefer to buy six packs. it's cheaper. you get reamed a bit on 22oz bottles, price per oz wise.

just listened to a guy talk about brewing in a long interview on the radio. he had been in a wholenutha line of work and at an electronics fair in Belgium drank some beer that surprised him, sparked his interest and opened his horizon. before that he only knew a couple of local big industry beers, the beverage of the proletarian masses. incidentally, beer is here the third placed drink by consumption, behind water and tea. anyway, that experience got him into exploring beer brewing and he became totally hooked, ended up with a €1.5 mil. investment in his brewery, Bevog. he's also a keen cook and uses his beer in cooking too.
made me curious to try and get a hold of it.

now to balance the thread, i'm drinking a soft drink (low alc. really) that's popularly made around here in late spring and summer, from water, fresh elder flowers, lemon, little sugar. starts fermenting in a couple of days at room temp. the amount of fizz/sweetness can be controlled by sugar quantity and stopping or slowing fermentation by putting it in the fridge. apparently it's called elderflower cordial in english.

south-central europe when not in the south pacific, i think srisaket is in thailand.

i see that's one of the top rated. only in cans? maybe it's just psychological, but i could swear beer tastes different from can than bottle. glass is neutral and cans in the food and drink industry are usually lined with some crap to prevent any acidic stuffs from eating the metal.

that looks like a cool dressed action figure of the Dodos drummer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brGHyx163pg

Firestone Double Jack
I really like how strong (9.5% ABV) this beer is.
But I can't shake the smell when drinking it from a glass.
I note a floral/body odor thing going on.
and no, it's not me

Sunday is my first day off in 3 straight weeks, so I had a couple of cans of Stella tonight, because...I don't know, you have to drink if you don't need to be up early?

Pre-emptive post!

I will be drinking a tasty vodka martini with olives later tonight. I love that moment before the first sip.

99p in Lidl just now (limited stocks as usual)

Lidl are great for having the odd bargain ale sale. Wish I'd bought more than 6 bottles now!

featuring some very distinctive and velvety toffee notes, which I might say are most pleasant on the pallet.

I'm shocked this went so long without a "head" joke. I'm not making one either, just pointing it out.

Good martinis. Did a Gray Goose one on a friend's recommendation but don't really care for it. Switched to Belvedere's, might have been the first time I've tried it; much better. Wasn't the greatest night, just a fair evening with friends. Probably if I'm being honest with myself, a bit disappointing but that's how it goes sometimes.

Might have been tempted to buy that mug at the doolittle gigs. As it transpired a bought a t-shirt, which is too fucking small for me and so I never wear it! Still cost me the best part of £30 quid though!

If they had printed the mug on a darker colour, let's say camouflage green or beige I might have bought it.

I could have designed better t-shirts and mugs for that tour. So why am I still working in a bar part time on the minumum wage? You tell me.
