I once got one or two photos with Joey. They didn't develop. |

Yes... Joey's discretion is legend, so it sounded funny to make a joey santiago facts list, begining by this "I took a picture with JS... it never developped". |

A strange hint on Charles' facebook page Under an old black and white photograph of the band, on October 27 Joey adds a comment "This shot was taken last week in Burbank, California" This means for me : - Charles and Joey are no longer in Wales - Burbank is the place where Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde were (at least in part) recorded and/or mixed (thre studios there : Master Control, Pacifique, Clubhouse). Frank Black Yellow album was also recorded in Burbank - therefore, maybe Kim and Dave are recording their parts in Burbank - or mixing is underway

It's been over a year now since he released a solo album (not incl. Grand Duchy which is more a Violent project) Is this the longest period without a solo album since his first? He also just tweeted 'Yay!' so hopefully that is an indication that he just finished recording a new Pixies album and not a yay for Obama, the child killer.

POT, you sound here like the tipical net/blog/youtube comments super angry guy. If you want to change UK's total devotion to US, talk to your friends and try to influence your policiticians: here in a pixies blog your credibility on this particular topic is very low. |

The funny thing is that i dont really know what he's talking about... does he have a relative who died in Lybia/Irak/Afghanistan or soemthing like that? Or is he just another angry internet guy with a mind totaly blured by his anger, ranting about the destiny of the world like they all do? Anyway i doubt he could create a topic called "Obama and his military shit in the UK" in a Pixies blog... It's not like we're on a Dead Kennedys blog, Frank Black is almost an apolitical person (being a artist, it's not a bad thing at all). |

He's politically astute, as are a lot of us unsurprisingly. So it's ok for us to do politics here.

I actually had a dream that the Pixies released an album solely consisting of the best bits from BF/FB&TC, it was warmly received, I was smug that I already knew the songs haha.
I would love that irl, a lot of the fb tracks + serious studio time + the rest of the Pixies would = total win.
I would rather listen to FB's best songs as re-imagined by the Pixies, than any new stuff. |

Mightn't count as a FB original, but Pixies' live version of All Around The World (Honeycomb) sounded great. If they really are recording that new album, I'd gladly welcome that more mellow vibe. Trying to emulate the Come On Pilgrim - TLM days runs a pretty big risk of sounding contrived.

Yeah, and why dont they re-record every song he did after teenager of the year? like time machine or alternate dimension stuff: the pixies got together in 95 and in the next 20 years they prepared a 300 songs record. Ok! Get to work pixies! Tomorow you start with The Marsist, that one is quite easy... |

Even if I love the album I'm still gonna rip on them. Wish I didn't have to re-live this shit. And anyway it's not a sixth album, it's a reset album. I'm not in a good mood. And now, talk about the Stones in another thread. This is bullcrap.
I'm grumbling!

I was listenning to Bam Thwok today and 8 years after I still think it's a great song ! Yes, even a great Pixies song ! So I'm quite optimistic, I know they can pull it off ! |

Black Francis discussing with Vaughn Oliver and Simon Larbalestier on FB Another sign of a Pixies album being made? Teaming up with art designers from the original era, as with Gil Norton for the audio... Or maybe he'll try to put some stuckist creations in the sleeve :)

Ha, now that is a serious tease... then again I presume they collaborated on the Minatour artwork which would imply they have been reconnecting for a while. |

Bowie just announced a new album and tour. David Bowie was always a big admirer of Thompson. I'll bet you'll see a Bowie/Thompson collaboration before you'll see new Pixies. |
