I was gonna start a thread called "Nostalgia." But this one makes my point, in that back in the day (nostalgia!) a bunch of forumites would have jumped all over pot's post and created a witty thread. Each thing has its time, its cycle, and then it fades away. Sad to see this place follow suit -- due to a synchronicitous (is that a word?) combination of perfect-storm factors, among them the advent of social media and the fact that the lives of our mods have gotten busier. Adding to the poignancy is that fact that forum activity has considerably slowed down during what is, apparently, a prolific time for Frank.
Anyway, just rambling and hoping that whoever is still here and reading is well.
Oh and long live the Catholics, etc., etc.
I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

i'm not fond of february either- winter dragging on, no more nfl...but we now have a february stat holiday!
...it is sad that the board activity has really dropped over the years. i remember how cool it would be when frank would stop by to chat and then some people would accuse him of not being "frank".

I agree. It was always nice to have something to look forward to when visiting this forum. It wouldn't even have to be a message from Frank Black. People used to discuss what direction he would take next, when the next album might be released, various musicians in his bands. There was always a "nugget" somewhere in the forum postings to give fans food for thought. It's really nice to see the familiar names in here though every once and awhile. It's like hanging out of your window and seeing someone you know pass by.

Websites seem to becoming increasingly obsolete as people are using facebook and twitter and all that bollocks more.
I like the format of this place though. It's simple, not too many sub forums. |

Hey, we're still here, and so is the site so all's well. For the first few years I never used the forum but used the site like a frank black bible like we did with The Black Vault. Personally, I am so glad the forum is still around for many reasons. I still look in disbelief at the date above the posts. I remember when it used to read 2004. Wow.
How old is this site now?
As long as you're not losing too much money with domain name and server fees, Cult...

Well, I'm going to go server shopping when I get back home from my trip but up until now we've been able to run on donations pretty much. A few pocket dips but all good. We're out of money though so next year will be some big decisions...

Well I don't think I've been on here for at least 6 years - and it looks almost exactly the same! It's been so long, I can't really remember why I got p'd off with it. But I did enjoy my time on here, met some lovely people.
Ah well, nice to be back!
