Damn, $66 for the presale. That seems a bit steep. |

I'm not going. I already saw it 2x in LA. Why go again about one year after? Are they going to do Doolittle polka style? |

Got word today that seats for the pre-sale are based on order of purchase, in case you plan on going and havne't seen the show 2x. |

I think they must've released about 15 tickets for the Nashville presale. I was in a meeting, came out at about 20 after and got NOTHING. |

I'm glad they aren't one of the many musicians who have decided to boycott AZ. |

Second Nashville show added. If the first isn't sold out yet, it will be very, very soon. Got not so good tickets for Friday, then got row C balcony seats for Saturday and cancelled the first order. |

Rodney, I'm going to both Nashville shows! I'm going the first night with a friend. The second night, I'm going SOLO so I can actually enjoy it (I got better seats for the second night too)! |

Oh man, Charlotte added. If only I knew last year when I traveled 8 hours to Washington, DC for the Doolittle tour that they'd be a 2.5 hour drive the next year. |

Does anybody have any idea whether this will be any different from the tour last year, or will it pretty much be exactly the same (except of course, for what non-Doolittle tracks they play in the encore), or would we be expecting them to switch it up a bit? |

their facebook page said they were playing stuff from bossanova and trompe le monde
The waxworks were an immensely eloquent dissertation on the wonderful ordinariness of mankind. |

When I first saw the Charlotte tickets available on presale, I immediatly snagged 2 of them. I then contacted all of my pro-pixie friends and told them they had to get a ticket asap. Now I have successfully gotten about 20 people to go to this show of epic proportions and it will be a huge party for us with our favorite band playing....What more could one ask for? |

Made the trek down to Philly last night for night 1 of the tour - a great show. Some new videos (Dead and Gouge Away), and a nice 4 song encore (Isla de Encanta, Nimrod's Son, Vamos, Where Is My Mind?). A pretty nice venue too, but i always hate rocking out while standing in rows of theater seats. Oh, and the most insane beer lines i've ever seen at a show.

Thanks for the info. Do You know when any of the videos they've used might become available in whatever format; on dvd or on youtube? I'm particularly interested in the videos for Dead.

Yes, I agree with Brian. A great show. My first "Doolittle" show. Don't know much about the beer lines, but as a recent "Philly-ite", that does not surprise. This is a brew town. I'd have to say that Black's voice was the best out of any show I've seen. Tame was downright frightening. Also, the CD from the show sounds pretty damn good. |

Yes, BF, I did. Shocked was the entire Northern part of the state that I, lover of all things Jersey would split. I chased the girl, getting married next week and miss my Devils. I thought you might be at the Philly show and I was looking around. I did see the band van come in. I live 2.5 miles from the Keswick Theater and a short train ride to the Trocadero. Really good venues!! Hope all is well.

I was at the second Ryman show, and I thought it was much better than the reviews had led me to believe it was. I really, really enjoyed it, especially the stage show.
Encore was: Winterlong Allison Dig For Fire Where Is My Mind Gigantic
Now, how I managed to actually fall asleep during the F--k Buttons set, I'll never know. |

wikipedia says this:
quote: The Show was a company created by Jake Walker, Eric Welsh and Jim Coudal in 2004 which delivered high quality limited edition live concert CD's. The company was successful with musical acts such as The Pixies and Dead Can Dance.
"was." that's all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Show_%28record_label%29
their websites are empty now: http://www.pixiesdiscs.com/ http://www.theshowlive.com/
but if you go to certain links, there is still content: http://www.pixiesdiscs.com/blog.php http://www.pixiesdiscs.com/faq.php i wonder if you can still order cds, if you wanted to. i guess not.
it's a shame. i love their output. i have all their pixies cds. i don't really care about the on-the-fly recorded cd-r releases of those other companies. except maybe for a show i went to. maybe that's a healthier approach, but i still regret it. i mean, those cds aren't bad, but the pixiesdiscs.com releases were so much better.
it's educational |
