The International Seat Thief. I knew he'd strike again.

My friend had a beautiful wicker chair in his front room.
Woke up one morning.
Gone.

They wanted $80 + tax & service for a balcony ticket in Toronto. Gouge away is right. Hopefully Frank will return solo to the horseshoe one day, but something tells me that chapter is over. I'm still holding out hope for a Catholics reunion to coincide with the box set..

The Winnipeg show is, I guess, essentially sold out. I got
in the door, not the loge seat I wanted, but, hey!

What was this 12 hour Live Nation Pre-sale thing? I didn't
see that until Friday, 10am.

I've been looking at Pixies setlists from 2010.
Most, if not all of the North American shows had a consistent setlist opening with the 4 b-sides, followed by Doolittle in its entirety, then an encore of 'Wave of Mutiliation (UK surf), and 'Into the White'.
In South America and Europe you seemed to play like ~30 song sets, ranging from Come on Pilgrim to even Alec Eiffel and Head On.
Were those S.A and Europe shows also considered/part of the 'Doolittle' tour, or will the Canadian upcoming Doolittle shows follow the same structure as the ones I first mentioned?

I already used my time machine to travel back and see that show. And I paid face value cos I cleverly went back to a time before the show sold out. No flies on me. Who's that guy trying to kid.

OK, well I'm confused. Some dates say tickets, some sold-out
but most of the dates have nothing.

Did they/have they all happened?

yeah I got 4 tickets, pretty impressive how fast the presale sold out.
Jefery With One F Posted - 01/21/2011 : 08:46:28
Well, I'm happy for any true fans who managed to get tickets.

I got two tickets for Calgary in my "shopping cart." Then I got a spinning wheel for 15 minutes--supremely frustrating when I could see the window for the checkout just beneath it but couldn't close the spinning wheel window. By the time I got past that, it was sold out. I hope everyone else had more success than that.

Thanks for posting this, matto. I don't how I missed it on FB, but I did.

Ya I'm also curious about presale info?

Anyone know when Montreal tickets go on sale, and where? Going to do that and the Ottawa one :)

I was a hawk and I just flew...yeah

Where would one find the presale? It says to log on to pixiesmusic.com--is it even possible to log on to the site?

Another other Doolittle tour: US/Canada:

http://www.slicingupeyeballs.com/2011/01/20/pixies-canada-tour-dates-doolittle/
The Pixies are keeping the Doolittle train rolling after more than 50 shows, announcing this morning a new round of 16 North American dates this April and May that mostly will hit Canadian cities for the first time — but with stops in Detroit, Milwaukee and St. Paul, Minn. thrown in as well.

The new trek — which once again will find the band playing its 1989 album in its entirety, plus all of its B-sides — opens April 9 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and wraps up nearly a month later, on May 3, in Vancouver, B.C. In between the Canadian run, the tour hits those three U.S. cities April 22-24 (see full dates below).

The Pixies began celebrating the 20th anniversary of Doolittle by performing the album on a European tour in the fall of 2009, then brought the show to the U.S. for the first time that November. In the spring and fall of 2010, respectively, the band took the show Down Under and back to the U.S. for a second round of dates.

Starting Friday, a limited number of tickets to North American dates will be made available through a presale at pixiesmusic.com. According to the band’s publicist, all presale purchases will include a “download taster” of live tracks from the Doolittle show. The general onsale is set for the following Friday, Jan. 28.

See the Pixies’ new ‘Doolittle’ dates after the jump…

Pixies tour dates:

April 9: Metro Centre, Halifax, NS
April 10: Centre – Casino Moncton, Moncton, NB
April 12: Salle Albert-Rousseau, Quebec City, QC
April 13: Metropolis, Montreal, QC
April 16: Civic Centre, Ottawa, ON
April 17: The Center in the Square, Kitchener, ON
April 18: Massey Hall, Toronto, ON
April 20: Wentworth Room, Hamilton, ON
April 22: Fox Theatre, Detroit, MI
April 23: Eagles Ballroom, Milwaukee, WI
April 24: Roy Wilkins Auditorium, St. Paul, MN
April 27: Centennial Concert Hall, Winnipeg, MB
April 29: TCU Place, Saskatoon, SK
April 30: Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, Calgary, AB
May 1: Shaw Conference Center, Edmonton, AB
May 3: Orpheum Theatre, Vancouver, BC

wikipedia says this:

The Show was a company created by Jake Walker, Eric Welsh and Jim Coudal in 2004 which delivered high quality limited edition live concert CD's. The company was successful with musical acts such as The Pixies and Dead Can Dance.

"was." that's all.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Show_%28record_label%29

their websites are empty now:

but if you go to certain links, there is still content:

i wonder if you can still order cds, if you wanted to. i guess not.

it's a shame. i love their output. i have all their pixies cds.
i don't really care about the on-the-fly recorded cd-r releases of those other companies. except maybe for a show i went to. maybe that's a healthier approach, but i still regret it. i mean, those cds aren't bad, but the pixiesdiscs.com releases were so much better.

does anyone know what happened with pixiesdiscs.com, aka the show live? i much preferred their product over what is being offered now (or what was being offered before on disclive.com).
did they go bankrupt, or have the pixies just decided not to work with them anymore, for whatever reason?

I was at the second Ryman show, and I thought it was much better than the reviews had led me to believe it was. I really, really enjoyed it, especially the stage show.

Encore was:
Winterlong
Allison
Dig For Fire
Where Is My Mind
Gigantic

Now, how I managed to actually fall asleep during the F--k Buttons set, I'll never know.
