WARNING: This thread is extremely pointless, but I'm extremely bored.

I tried to compile a list of all the FB songs that he never played live (solo or with a band). I excluded the Grand Duchy tracks cause I didn't pay attention when they toured. Here's the list. It would be nice if people could tell if they've heard some of them. Uploading them would be even better...

[edit 02-23]

Played live:

Garbage Heap (2008)
The Tale Of Lonesome Fetter (Berlin Postbahnhof 02.18.2008)
Bill Jocko (Mark Mulcahy benefit gig, 2009)
All In My Mind (Winston Calling, 2009)
Amnesia (1993-05-29 - Commodore, Vancouver)
Announcement (when?)
Back To Rome (live: 1998-06-27 - Alpine Valley, East Troy, WI; solo: 2006-08-13 Birdy's, Indianapolis, IN)

I think he played Blast Off when he was in Lille with the Catholics in October 2003. I'm pretty sure I posted about that gig at the time, but can't find my post anymore.

He played Garbage Heap in Paris in 2008. Our very own Frog in the Sand documented that one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLoVaVOLX2A

I would love to hear him play Pan American Highway...

Out of State was played on the 2002 or 2003 tour, somewhere around there. Seems to me I Will Run After You has also been played live, I'd have to check to be sure.

As am I. Winter 2001, Catholics, good times.

I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

I think 'Fazer Eyes' is played on the Arapaho recording.

'Garbage Heap' was played on the Svn Fngrs tour, and sounded bloody great.

Some reviews said 'All in My Mind' was played at the Winston Calling show, with David J.

It's not on the one I have, unless various gigs were recorded. Mine is from June 4th, 1994.

Here's what I've got...

http://www.hi-toro.com/music/misc/

(Right-click on each link -> Save As.)

Sorry, I just searched for these and never thought to note which gigs they came from, but they include Glasgow Garage 2003 (my brother's recording), "Berbati's Plan, Portland (5.23.02)", the Lowlands Festival and others.

(I also added Get Away Oil 'cos it kicks ass live.)

i've long since lost the full setlist but i'm 100% positive frank played "out of state" with the catholics in boston in november of 2002. i remember because it was my favorite song from the bld/devil's workshop era. my girlfriend at the time had just recorded her own cover and we were both thrilled to hear it. i know at least one or two others on your list were pulled out, too, but i'm a little foggier on those. hmm, i've got a ton of 30+ song long bootlegs (those 2 hour shows were always killer) from 2002/2003 somewhere on my external...

potentially useful if i can find them buried within; nabbed back in my poor tagging days

Does this count as live? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLe7-8WMGsg

I doubt it does, but I have a hard time believing "I Will Run After You" was never done live.

This song ("I Will Run After You") was played live 3/24/2001 at Melkweg, Amsterdam. Listening to it right now. Surely it was played at more shows than just this one...

"Announcement" was played 2/28/96 at the Rub A Dub Club, Tampa, FL, and very likely other locales on this tour as well. There just have to be more live versions of this kick ass song out there(!)

"Black Letter Days" was played: Double Door, Chicago, IL, Monday, 4/29/20002; The Bottleneck, Lawrence, KS, Wednesday, May 1, 2002; Amoeba Music, Los Angeles, CA, Thursday, August 22, 2002; Double Door, Chicago, IL, Saturday, March 29, 2003; Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver, B.C., Thursday, 4/10/2003; and probably other dates.

"Chip Away Boy" was played: Double Door, Chicago, IL, Saturday, March 29, 2003; Shank Hall, Milwaukee, WI, March 31, 2003; maybe other dates??

"Everything Is New" & "My Favorite Kiss," don't know about these two. I would guess they were played live somewhere, Frank seemed to play whatever he felt like (or was politely requested) back in the day.

I heard him play "My Favorite Kiss" in May of 2003 solo acoustic at Fez Under Time Cafe in New York. It was the last song of the main set. Same show as "Valentine and Garuda."

I don't - and i hate it. It was possibly the best gig i've ever seen. Except for some overzealous hand-on-leg-drumming/singing along way too loudly from some guy right under Frank.

The boot exists though, it's on the trade list benji posted.
There's also a gig listed from the same month in Cambridge, MA, which has Everything is New, Velvety, Some Things and Solid Gold - SOLO! I'd love to hear that.
